## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Chrome Web Store Scraper — extension users, rating, review count, version, last update and newest reviews

Get the public facts of any Chrome extension in one row: name, number of users, average rating, number of ratings and reviews, version, last update date, size, category, developer, website and the 10 newest reviews. Give it extension IDs or Chrome Web Store links. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel or Google Sheets. No login and no API key.

**Who uses this:** extension makers watching competitors, product managers comparing tools, market researchers sizing a category, security and IT teams checking what an extension is and who makes it, investors and analysts tracking growth, AI agents that need current extension facts.

### What you get per extension

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `extensionId`, `name`, `url` | Who the extension is and its store link |
| `summary`, `description` | The short line and the full store description |
| `category`, `developerName`, `website` | Store category, who offers it, and the website it lists (empty if none) |
| `userCount` | Users, as the store shows it, for example `38000000` |
| `rating`, `ratingCount` | Average stars and the number of ratings |
| `reviewCount` | Number of written reviews |
| `version`, `lastUpdated`, `size` | Current version, the day of the last update, and the package size |
| `recentReviews` | The 10 newest reviews: `rating`, `text`, `date`, `updatedDate`, `appVersion`, `language` |
| `recentLowRated` | How many of those newest reviews are 1 or 2 stars |
| `iconUrl`, `scrapedAt` | Icon link, and when the row was collected |

Reviewer names are not collected.

### Price

**$0.01 per run + $3 per 1,000 extensions.** That is two pay-per-event charges: `actor-start` ($0.01) once per run and `result` ($0.003) per extension. No compute fees on top. The free Apify plan ($5 per month credit) covers about 1,600 extensions a month at no cost. An extension that is not found is not charged. A run that Google blocks before it returns any data is not charged.

### How to use

1. Open the Input tab and add extensions: the 32-letter ID from the store link, or the link itself.
2. Leave **Include the 10 newest reviews** on if you want the reviews. They come with the same request.
3. Click Start. Each extension takes about a second. Open the Output tab and export the table as CSV, JSON or Excel, or send it to Google Sheets with Apify's Google Sheets integration.

    "scrapedAt": "2026-09-26T08:10:00.000Z"
}
```
The example is shortened: a real row has the full description and up to 10 reviews.
### Limits
- Only public data from the store page. No login and no private data.
- You get the **10 newest reviews** of each extension. Older reviews are not included in this version. `reviewCount` tells you how many exist.
- Users are shown by the store as a rounded number, and the actor returns it as shown.
- An extension that was removed from the store, or an ID that does not exist, is not returned and is named in the run log.
- The actor keeps to about 1 request a second and retries with a pause. If a run fails with 403 or 429, turn on **Proxy** and choose Residential.
### FAQ
**Can I track an extension over time?** Yes. Schedule the actor in Apify with the same extensions and compare `userCount`, `rating` and `version` between runs.
**How do I find an extension's ID?** It is the 32 letters at the end of the store link.
**Can an AI agent use it?** Yes. It works through Apify's API and MCP server. Give it a list of extension IDs.
**Something is wrong. What now?** Open an issue on the Issues tab with the extension ID and the input you used. Field requests are welcome.
### Changelog
- **0.1** First release: extension facts, newest reviews, developer and website, pay per event.
# Actor input Schema
## `extensions` (type: `array`):
One entry per extension: the 32-letter ID (aapbdbdomjkkjkaonfhkkikfgjllcleb) or the Chrome Web Store link. You pay per extension, so this list is also your cost cap.
## `includeReviews` (type: `boolean`):
Adds the newest reviews of each extension to its row. They come with the same request, so this is free of extra cost.
## `language` (type: `string`):
Language of the store page (name, summary and description), as a code: en, de, fr, pt-BR.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Leave off unless Google blocks Apify servers (errors 403 or 429). Then turn on Apify Proxy and pick Residential.
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "extensions": [
    "aapbdbdomjkkjkaonfhkkikfgjllcleb",
    "https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ublock-origin-lite/ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh"
  ],
  "includeReviews": true,
  "language": "en",
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `extensions` (type: `string`):
One row per extension: users, rating, ratings, reviews, version, last update, developer, newest reviews.
## `extensionsCsv` (type: `string`):
Same rows as CSV for Google Sheets or Excel.
