## Pricing

$10.00 / 1,000 page checks

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Marketing Claim Change Monitor

Keep a traceable record when public English marketing wording changes. Add up to 20 pages you own or are authorized to inspect. The first successful run saves a baseline; later runs compare exact sentence quotes and return `added` and `removed` evidence. Schedule the same input and `monitorId` in Apify to monitor over time.

### Good for

- Spotting a changed earnings example, refund window, result guarantee, or value anchor across a seller's public landing pages.
- Checking approved copy after a site release without rereading every page.
- Feeding a human review workflow with source URLs and exact before/after wording.

### How it works

1. Enter public HTTPS HTML page URLs. They must not require login, use a query string, or redirect to a different host.
2. Run once to create the baseline. A row with `baseline_created` is expected; it is not a detected change.
3. Run again, or create an Apify schedule using the same input. `changed` rows show `added` and `removed` quotes. `unchanged` means the selected claim patterns matched the previous baseline exactly.
4. Use `resetBaseline` only when you deliberately want a new reference point.

Example result:

```json
{"url":"https://example.com/offer","monitor_id":"launch","status":"changed","current_claims":1,"added_count":1,"removed_count":1,"added":[{"type":"refund_window","quote":"30-day refund guarantee."}],"removed":[{"type":"refund_window","quote":"14-day refund guarantee."}],"error":""}
```

### Scope and limits

This is a rule-based English wording monitor, not a legal review, platform-policy checker, AI detector, or whole-page change monitor. It parses visible text from fetched HTML; it does not run page JavaScript or inspect checkout behavior or linked files. Sentence splitting and pattern matching can miss or misclassify wording. Exact wording edits can appear as one removed and one added quote even if meaning is unchanged. It does not send email alerts automatically; use Apify schedules and downstream integrations for notifications. A failed fetch does not overwrite the saved baseline. The named Apify key-value store retains baselines in the running user's Apify account; `resetBaseline` replaces only the specified page's saved baseline.

Each successful page check is charged once as `page-checked`; rejected or unavailable pages are not charged. The exact event price is shown in the Apify Pricing tab before you run. You also control the maximum cost per run in Apify.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Supply 1–20 public HTTPS HTML pages you own or are authorized to inspect. No query-string or login pages. The first run creates a baseline; later runs compare exact claims.

## `monitorId` (type: `string`):

Use the same ID in scheduled runs to compare with the same baseline. Change it to maintain an independent baseline.

## `resetBaseline` (type: `boolean`):

When on, the current page becomes the new baseline for this Monitor ID and URL. It does not delete other saved baselines.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://example.com/"
    }
  ],
  "monitorId": "default",
  "resetBaseline": false
}
```

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("a.klimm67/marketing-claim-change-monitor").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
