## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Pinterest Ads Repository Scraper

![Pinterest Ads Repository Scraper](https://i.ibb.co/XfMBy7V8/ads-pinterest-banner.png)

**Pinterest Ads Repository Scraper** extracts ads from the [Pinterest Ads Repository](https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/) into clean, structured data you can download as JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML. Pick a country, an advertiser, a category or a date range, and get the advertiser, creative image or video, title, landing page, targeting, reach and delivery dates of every ad. No account or login required.

### Introduction

The [Pinterest Ads Repository](https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/) is Pinterest's public ad library. It lists every ad shown to people in the European Union, Brazil and Turkey, together with who paid for it, who it targeted and how many people it reached.

This actor collects the same public information you see in your browser and turns it into a ready-to-use dataset. You can run it once, schedule it to run daily, or connect it to your own tools.

### What data can you extract from the Pinterest Ads Repository?

- 🏢 Advertiser names, Pinterest profile name, username, profile URL and follower count
- 🏷️ Ad title and description
- 🖼️ Creative image (original size), video, story pages and carousel images
- 🔗 Landing page URLs and domain, plus the ad and Pin URLs
- 📅 First and last delivery dates
- 🎯 Targeting: countries, regions, metros, postal codes, age groups, genders, interests, audience types, devices and keyword use
- 📊 Reach in the EU and per country, as text and as minimum/maximum numbers
- ⚖️ Commercial content flag, verified merchant, review status and moderation reasons

### Use Cases

- 📈 **Market research**: see which products and messages advertisers push on Pinterest in each country and category.
- 🕵️ **Competitor monitoring**: track every Pinterest ad a competitor runs, with its creative, landing page and targeting.
- 🎨 **Creative inspiration**: collect winning images, videos and titles by category for your own campaigns.
- 🤝 **Lead generation**: find brands that actively advertise on Pinterest, with their website and profile.
- 🤖 **AI and automation**: feed clean, structured ad data into spreadsheets, dashboards, or AI workflows.

### How to scrape the Pinterest Ads Repository step by step

1. Keep the Ads Repository page in **Start URLs**, or type advertiser names into **Advertiser names**.
2. Choose the **Country**, and optionally the dates, **Ad category**, **Gender** and **Age**.
3. Set **Maximum number of results** to how many ads you want per URL or per advertiser.
4. Click **Start** and download your data in JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML from the **Output** tab.

### Input

- **Start URLs**: the Ads Repository page (`https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/`), scraped with the filters below, or single ad pages (`https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/<adId>/`). You can also set filters right in the URL, for example `https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/?country=DE&category=BEAUTY&startDate=2026-09-01&endDate=2026-10-01`, to scrape several countries or categories in one run.
- **Advertiser names**: advertiser names as shown in the Ads Repository advertiser filter, one per line. Upper and lower case do not matter. Each advertiser is scraped separately.
- **Country**: the country where the ads were shown (EU countries, Brazil and Turkey).
- **Start date** and **End date**: the delivery period. Empty means the last 30 days.
- **Ad category**, **Gender** and **Age**: narrow the results to a category or a targeted audience.
- **Maximum number of results**: how many ads to collect for each start URL or advertiser. Set 0 for unlimited.

You can use start URLs, advertiser names, or both in the same run.

### Input Examples

Scrape the latest ads shown in France:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://ads.pinterest.com/ads-repository/" }],
  "country": "FR",
  "category": "ALL",
  "gender": "ALL",
  "age": "ALL",
  "maxResults": 5
}
```

Get the ads of specific advertisers in Germany:

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["Amazon.de", "OTTO"],
  "country": "DE",
  "maxResults": 5
}
```

### Output

Each ad is saved as one item in the dataset. Here is an example of a single item:

You can download the dataset in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML, or access it through the Apify API.

### Notes

- The Ads Repository only covers ads shown in the EU, Brazil and Turkey, and only keeps ads from the last 12 months. Older dates are ignored.
- Date ranges longer than 30 days are split into 30-day periods automatically, newest first.
- Advertiser names must match a name from the Ads Repository advertiser filter. If no advertiser matches, the run log shows similar names you can use instead.
- An ad that matches several start URLs or advertisers in the same run is saved only once.
- Some ads link to a Pin that no longer exists. Those ads still have their repository data, but the landing page, Pinterest profile and original image fields are empty.
- Reach is shown as a range by Pinterest (for example `0 - 10000`), so it is returned as text plus minimum and maximum numbers.
- Only URLs from the Ads Repository are supported; other Pinterest URLs are skipped.

### Why use the Pinterest Ads Repository Scraper?

- ✅ **No login needed**: works with public data only, so there is no account to manage.
- 🌍 **Many inputs in one run**: mix countries, categories and advertisers by adding several start URLs and advertiser names.
- 🧹 **Clean data**: numbers are real numbers, dates use one standard format, and text is free of HTML.
- 💸 **Pay for what you need**: set a result limit per URL or advertiser and keep every run small and cheap.
- 🔄 **Ready for automation**: schedule runs, export to Google Sheets, or connect to Make, Zapier, and n8n.

### FAQ

#### How many results can I scrape?

You can set any number in **Maximum number of results**, or 0 for unlimited. The actor keeps going until it reaches your limit or runs out of ads for your filters.

#### Do I need a Pinterest account?

No. The actor only collects publicly available data. You do not need to log in or provide any account details.

#### Can I scrape data on a schedule?

Yes. Use Apify Schedules to run the actor every hour, day, or week, and get fresh ads automatically.

#### Why are some fields empty?

Pinterest does not publish every detail for every ad. When a field is not available, it is returned as `null` or an empty list.

#### Can I request a new feature or filter?

Yes. Right now the actor supports the Ads Repository page, single ad pages, advertiser names and the country, date, category, gender and age filters. If you need something else, get in touch and it can be added.

#### Can I get a custom or private version?

Yes. The actor can be customized for your workflow, delivered as a private version, or a new scraper can be built for a different website. Use the contact details below.
