## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Booking Ads Repository Scraper

![Booking Ads Repository Scraper](https://i.ibb.co/bjSGvzsN/booking-ads-banner.png)

**Booking Ads Repository Scraper** extracts ads from the [Booking Ads Repository](https://www.booking.com/ad-repository.html) into clean, structured data you can download as JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML. Paste a repository search URL or type hotel and campaign names, and get the ad name, the advertiser that paid for it, the first and last shown dates, targeting and impressions per European country for every ad. No account or login required.

### Introduction

The [Booking Ads Repository](https://www.booking.com/ad-repository.html) is Booking.com's public ad library. It lists the ads shown on Booking.com to people in Europe: hotels, car rentals and campaigns promoted on the platform, who paid for each ad, when it ran and how many impressions it got in each EU country.

This actor collects the same public information you see in your browser and turns it into a ready-to-use dataset. You can run it once, schedule it to run daily, or connect it to your own tools.

### What data can you extract from the Booking Ads Repository?

- 🏷️ Ad name: the hotel, car rental or campaign being advertised
- 🏢 Advertiser (legal entity): the company or person that paid for the ad
- 📅 First shown and last shown dates
- 🎯 Targeting type and the targeting description shown by Booking.com
- 📊 Total impressions as a range (for example `1K-10K`) and as minimum/maximum numbers
- 🌍 Impressions per European country, as text and as minimum/maximum numbers, plus the number of countries
- 🔗 Direct link that opens the ad details in the repository, and the date range searched

### Use Cases

- 📈 **Market research**: see which hotel chains, brands and destinations advertise most on Booking.com and in which countries.
- 🕵️ **Competitor monitoring**: track every Booking.com ad run by a competing hotel group or property, with dates and reach.
- 🤝 **Lead generation**: find hotels and travel companies that actively spend on Booking.com advertising.
- 🗂️ **Database building**: build a history of Booking.com ads by advertiser, property and date range.
- 🤖 **AI and automation**: feed clean, structured ad data into spreadsheets, dashboards, or AI workflows.

### How to scrape the Booking Ads Repository step by step

1. Paste one or more Booking Ads Repository search URLs into **Start URLs**, or type hotel or campaign names into **Ad names**.
2. Optionally set **Advertiser (legal entity)**, **Shown from** and **Shown until** for the ad names.
3. Set **Max results** to how many ads you want per URL or per name.
4. Click **Start** and download your data in JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML from the **Output** tab.

### Input

- **Start URLs**: Booking Ads Repository search URLs, such as `https://www.booking.com/ad-repository/search.html?date_from=2026-10-01&date_to=2026-10-15&legal_entity=Wyndham`, in any language version of the site. The dates, ad name, advertiser and page in the URL are kept. A URL without dates uses the date range below. The repository main page (`https://www.booking.com/ad-repository.html`) is scraped with the filters below. A URL with an opened ad returns only that ad.
- **Ad names**: hotel, car rental or campaign names to search, one per line, for example `Holiday Inn`. Partial names work and upper or lower case does not matter. Each name is scraped separately.
- **Advertiser (legal entity)**: the company or person that paid for the ad, for example `IHG` or `Wyndham`. Partial names work. Applies to ad names and to the main page.
- **Shown from** and **Shown until**: the period when the ads were shown. Empty means the last 30 days up to yesterday.
- **Max results**: how many ads to collect for each start URL or ad name. Set 0 for unlimited.

You can use start URLs, ad names, or both in the same run.

### Input Examples

Scrape the ads paid for by Wyndham in the first half of October 2026:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://www.booking.com/ad-repository/search.html?date_from=2026-10-01&date_to=2026-10-15&legal_entity=Wyndham"
    }
  ],
  "maxResults": 5
}
```

Search ads by name and advertiser:

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["Holiday Inn"],
  "legalEntity": "IHG",
  "dateFrom": "2026-10-01",
  "dateTo": "2026-10-15",
  "maxResults": 5
}
```

### Output

Each ad is saved as one item in the dataset. Here is an example of a single item (the country list is shortened):

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.booking.com/ad-repository/search.html?date_from=2026-10-01&date_to=2026-10-15&legal_entity=Wyndham&active_item=9e6ac74f-a1e6-41c6-96b0-dd7b7e66f94c",
  "id": "9e6ac74f-a1e6-41c6-96b0-dd7b7e66f94c",
  "adName": "Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Holland",
  "legalEntity": "Wyndham",
  "dateStarted": "2025-06-03T00:00:00Z",
  "dateLastShown": "2026-10-27T00:00:00Z",
  "targetingType": "DEFAULT",
  "targetingDescription": "This ad targets Booking.com users based on their location, language, device type and, where applicable, their search criteria, including destination, group size and dates.",
  "totalImpressions": "1K-10K",
  "totalImpressionsMin": 1000,
  "totalImpressionsMax": 10000,
  "countriesCount": 27,
  "impressionsPerCountry": [
    {
      "country": "Austria",
      "impressions": "<1K",
      "impressionsMin": 0,
      "impressionsMax": 1000
    },
    {
      "country": "Belgium",
      "impressions": "<1K",
      "impressionsMin": 0,
      "impressionsMax": 1000
    }
  ],
  "searchDateFrom": "2026-10-01",
  "searchDateTo": "2026-10-15"
}
```

You can download the dataset in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML, or access it through the Apify API.

### Notes

- The repository covers ads shown on Booking.com in Europe only. Ads shown elsewhere are not listed.
- Data is available up to yesterday. A later end date is capped at yesterday, and a start date in the future stops the run with a message.
- Impressions are published by Booking.com as ranges (for example `10K-50K`), not exact numbers. The minimum/maximum fields are the bounds of that range.
- Some ads do not have impression data yet. Their impression fields are `null`.
- The repository shows the ad name, advertiser, dates, targeting and impressions. It does not publish the ad images or texts.
- Other links on Booking.com (hotel pages, search results) are skipped.

### Why use the Booking Ads Repository Scraper?

- ✅ **No login needed**: works with public data only, so there is no account to manage.
- 🎯 **Keeps your filters**: paste any repository search URL from your browser and get exactly what you see there.
- 🔍 **Many searches in one run**: scrape several ad names or search URLs at once, each with its own limit.
- 🧹 **Clean data**: impression ranges come with numeric bounds, dates use one standard format.
- 💸 **Pay for what you need**: set a result limit per URL or name and keep every run small and cheap.
- 🔄 **Ready for automation**: schedule runs, export to Google Sheets, or connect to Make, Zapier, and n8n.

### FAQ

#### How many results can I scrape?

You can set any number in **Max results**, or 0 for unlimited. The actor keeps going until it reaches your limit or runs out of ads. A broad date range without filters can hold tens of thousands of ads.

#### Do I need a Booking.com account?

No. The actor only collects publicly available data. You do not need to log in or provide any account details.

#### Can I scrape data on a schedule?

Yes. Use Apify Schedules to run the actor every day or week, and get fresh ads automatically. With empty dates, every run covers the last 30 days.

#### Why are some fields empty?

Some ads simply do not show every piece of information yet. When a value is not available in the repository, it is returned as `null`.

#### Can I request a new feature or filter?

Yes. Right now the actor supports search URLs, ad names, advertiser and date range. If you need other inputs, get in touch and they can be added.

#### Can I get a custom or private version?

Yes. The actor can be customized for your workflow, delivered as a private version, or a new scraper can be built for a different website. Use the contact details below.
