## Pricing

from $2.80 / 1,000 results

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Marsm Events Scraper

![Marsm Events Scraper](https://i.ibb.co/0jL8Mq5Y/marsm-ca-banner.png)

**Marsm Events Scraper** extracts Arab and Middle Eastern concerts, comedy shows and club nights from [MARSM Canada](https://www.marsm.ca/) into clean, structured data you can download as JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML. Paste a Marsm events page or event URL and get the artist, genre, dates with local time, venue, full address, coordinates, ticket link and description of every event. No account or login required.

### Introduction

[MARSM Canada](https://www.marsm.ca/) is a promoter of Arab music and arts events in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and other Canadian cities, from live concerts and Arabic stand-up comedy to Arab pop club nights. Its events calendar is a good source for anyone following the Arab and SWANA cultural scene in Canada.

This actor collects the same public information you see in your browser and turns it into a ready-to-use dataset. You can run it once, schedule it to run daily, or connect it to your own tools.

### What data can you extract from Marsm?

- 🎤 Event title, artist, genre and tagline
- 📅 Start and end date in UTC and in local Canadian time, plus upcoming or past status
- 📍 Venue, street address, city, province, postal code, country, latitude and longitude
- 🎟️ Ticket link and ticket sale status (for example "On sale now" or "SOLD OUT")
- 📝 Full event description as plain text
- 🖼️ Cover image and all event images
- 🔗 Artist and partner links (Instagram, Spotify, website and more), tags and categories
- 🕒 Published and last updated dates, plus the direct URL of each event

### Use Cases

- 📈 **Market research**: see which Arab artists, genres and cities draw events in Canada and how often.
- 🕵️ **Competitor monitoring**: follow the line-up, venues and ticketing partners of a leading Arab events promoter.
- 🤝 **Lead generation**: build a list of artists, venues and ticketing pages for bookings and partnerships.
- 🗂️ **Database building**: create your own calendar of Arab and Middle Eastern events across Canada.
- 🤖 **AI and automation**: feed clean, structured data into spreadsheets, dashboards, or AI workflows.

### How to scrape Marsm step by step

1. Paste one or more Marsm URLs into **Start URLs**.
2. Set **Maximum number of results** to how many events you want per URL.
3. Optionally choose an **Event status**, a **City**, or a date range with **Date from** and **Date to**.
4. Click **Start** and wait for the run to finish.
5. Download your data in JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML from the **Output** tab.

### Input

- **Start URLs**: Marsm URLs to scrape. Supported pages: the All Events page, the home page, the Events Archive, tag pages (such as `https://www.marsm.ca/upcoming-events?tag=Faraj+2026`), artist tour pages (such as `https://www.marsm.ca/faraj-suleiman-canada-2026`) and single event pages. Tags in the URL are kept in the results.
- **Maximum number of results**: how many events to collect for each start URL. Use `0` for no limit.
- **Event status**: upcoming events (default), past events, or both.
- **City**: only keep events in this city, for example `Toronto`, `Montreal` or `Ottawa`. Accents are optional.
- **Date from** and **Date to**: only keep events taking place within this date range (local Canadian time).

Event status, city and dates apply to events pages and tour pages. Single event URLs are always scraped.

### Input Examples

Scrape upcoming events from the All Events page:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.marsm.ca/all-events" }],
  "maxResults": 5
}
```

Scrape all past events in Montreal in the first half of 2026:

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.marsm.ca/all-events" }],
  "maxResults": 0,
  "eventStatus": "past",
  "city": "Montreal",
  "dateFrom": "2026-01-01",
  "dateTo": "2026-06-30"
}
```

### Output

Each event is saved as one item in the dataset. Here is an example of a single item:

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.marsm.ca/upcoming-events/faraj-toronto-2026",
You can download the dataset in JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or HTML, or access it through the Apify API.
### Notes
- Ticket prices are not listed on Marsm. Tickets are sold on partner ticketing sites, so the actor returns the ticket link and sale status instead of a price.
- Local times follow the time zone used by the Marsm website (Toronto time), also for events in other provinces.
- A few older events have no structured address, so city, province and postal code are `null` for them. The city filter still matches the city in the event title.
- The Events Archive page always returns past events, whatever the **Event status** is.
- Other pages such as About, Gallery or the cart are not supported and are skipped.
### Why use the Marsm Events Scraper?
- ✅ **No login needed**: works with public data only, so there is no account to manage.
- 🎯 **Filters that matter**: choose upcoming or past events, a city and a date range.
- 🧹 **Clean data**: dates in one standard format, coordinates as numbers, and descriptions free of HTML.
- 💸 **Pay for what you need**: set a result limit per URL and keep every run small and cheap.
- 🔄 **Ready for automation**: schedule runs, export to Google Sheets, or connect to Make, Zapier, and n8n.
### FAQ
#### How many results can I scrape?
You can set any number in **Maximum number of results**, or `0` for no limit. The actor keeps going until it reaches your limit or runs out of events. Marsm lists around 140 events in total, including past ones.
#### Do I need a Marsm account?
No. The actor only collects publicly available data. You do not need to log in or provide any account details.
#### Can I scrape data on a schedule?
Yes. Use Apify Schedules to run the actor every day or week and get new events automatically.
#### Why are some fields empty?
Some events simply do not show every piece of information, such as a tagline or a ticket link for older events. When a field is not available on the website, it is returned as `null`.
#### Can I request a new feature or filter?
Yes. Right now the actor supports start URLs with event status, city and date filters. If you need other filters or inputs, such as genre or venue, get in touch and they can be added.
#### Can I get a custom or private version?
Yes. The actor can be customized for your workflow, delivered as a private version, or a new scraper can be built for a different website. Use the contact details below.
