## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 bluesky post returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Mentions Monitor: Keyword Alerts to Slack

Watch public Bluesky posts for keywords, brand names, competitor names, domains,
@-mentions of an account, or new posts from accounts you follow. One dataset row per
post. Turn on monitoring and each run returns only the posts that are new since the
last run, and can push them straight to Slack, Discord or Telegram.

No API key. Anonymous public search on `api.bsky.app`.

### How to use Bluesky Mentions Monitor: Keyword Alerts to Slack

1. **In the Apify Console.** Open the actor page and click **Start** — the `queries` field is already pre-filled with a working example. Results land in the run's dataset as soon as each item is found.
2. **Via the API.** Call it directly with a POST request — no Console needed once you have an API token:
   ```bash
   curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~bluesky-mentions-monitor/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
     -X POST \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -d '{"queries":["apify"]}'
   ```
3. **On a schedule.** Save this actor as an Apify **Task** with the input you want, then add a **Schedule** (hourly, daily, weekly) so it runs on its own — no server of your own required.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "apify"
  ]
}
```

One search per line: a keyword, a phrase in quotes, or a bare domain such as apify.com. Each line is searched across public Bluesky posts. Mentions and watched accounts are set in their own fields below. Accepted formats: apify, "open source", apify.com.

- `queries`: keywords, phrases in quotes, or bare domains. One search each.
- `mentionHandles` (optional): handles whose @-mentions to watch.
- `watchHandles` (optional): handles whose own new posts to return (reposts excluded).
- `sinceHours` (default 24, max 720), `maxResults` (default 100, max 1,000, per item).
- `language`, `excludeReplies`, `minLikes`: filters applied before billing.
- `onlyNewSinceLastRun` and `deltaName`: monitoring and watchlist name.
- `notifyUrl` and `notifyFormat`: Slack, Discord or Telegram webhook (or any JSON
  endpoint). The link is a secret and is never logged.

### Output

| query | found | status | postUrl | text | authorHandle | authorDisplayName | createdAt | likeCount | repostCount | replyCount | matchedQuery | isNew | firstSeenAt | scrapedAt |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| apify | true | OK | <post link> | <post text> | <author handle> | <author name> | <posted> | <likes> | <reposts> | <replies> | <matched search> | \<is this post new?> | <first seen on a run> | 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z |

One row per post: `postUrl`, `text`, `authorHandle`, `authorDisplayName`, `createdAt`,
`likeCount`, `repostCount`, `replyCount`, `quoteCount`, `lang`, `links`, `hashtags`,
`matchedQuery`, `isNew`, `firstSeenAt`, `uri`. Counts are null when Bluesky does not
return them. A search with no matches returns one `found: false` row and costs nothing.

### Billing

One `post` event per post returned. A search with no matches, and a monitoring run with
nothing new, are never charged.

### Tests

`npm test` runs offline tests against a saved search-page fixture.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

One search per line: a keyword, a phrase in quotes, or a bare domain such as apify.com. Each line is searched across public Bluesky posts. Mentions and watched accounts are set in their own fields below. Accepted formats: apify, "open source", apify.com. You're only charged for the ones we actually find — a miss costs nothing.

## `mentionHandles` (type: `array`):

Bluesky handles, for example someone.bsky.social. Each one returns posts that mention the account. Leave empty to skip.

## `watchHandles` (type: `array`):

Bluesky handles. Each one returns that account's own recent posts (reposts excluded). Leave empty to skip.

## `testRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on to test your input on a small sample before running the full list. Turn it off to process everything.

## `onlyFound` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep rows where something was actually found. Misses are always free, whether or not you show them here.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep results that mention at least one of these words (e.g. a job title, a city, a product name). Leave empty to keep everything.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Drop any result that mentions one of these words. Leave empty to skip nothing.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Caps how many posts you get (and pay for) from each keyword, mention or watched account. Default 100, maximum 1,000.

## `sinceHours` (type: `integer`):

How far back to search, from 1 to 720 hours. Default 24. Applied as a date filter on Bluesky, before you are billed.

## `language` (type: `string`):

A two-letter language code such as en or de. Leave empty for every language.

## `excludeReplies` (type: `boolean`):

When on, posts that reply to another post are dropped before you are billed.

## `minLikes` (type: `integer`):

Keep a post only when it has at least this many likes. Default 0.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turns each search, mention and account into an alert. A post counts as new when its Bluesky URI has not been returned for that item by a previous run of the same watchlist. Already-seen posts are dropped before you are billed, so a run with nothing new costs only the start fee. URIs not seen for 30 days are forgotten.

## `deltaName` (type: `string`):

Leave empty and one is derived from your search settings. Type your own name to keep two schedules of the same search apart. With the checkbox above off, every post is returned and stamped 'Is this post new?' so you can filter in Sheets, n8n or Make.

## `notifyUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional. After the posts are billed, each NEW post is posted here as one message: author, text, engagement and a link, with a NEW POST badge. Discord or Slack: paste the channel webhook URL. Telegram: https://api.telegram.org/bot<token>/sendMessage?chat_id=<chat id>. Any other URL receives JSON. Messages are free, and a message that fails never fails the run (the row's notifyErrors says why). Stored encrypted, never logged or written to the results. Alerts only go out with monitoring on.

## `notifyFormat` (type: `string`):

Leave on "Detect from the link": discord.com links get Discord messages, hooks.slack.com Slack, api.telegram.org Telegram, anything else JSON. Pick one only to override that.

## `maxNotificationsPerRun` (type: `integer`):

Up to 100. Above this, one "+N more" message says how many more posts are in the run's dataset. 0 sends only that one summary message.

## `columns` (type: `array`):

Choose which pieces of information to include in each result row. All are included by default.

## `expandRows` (type: `boolean`):

When on, each post found gets its own row instead of being grouped under its search. You're still only charged once per search, no matter how many rows it produces.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep conservative — this target has no browser fallback, so getting blocked costs more than slow-and-steady.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy config. Residential recommended for anti-bot-sensitive targets.
