## Pricing

from $1.50 / 1,000 video row returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Dailymotion Scraper: Channels, Videos & Search API

Search Dailymotion videos by keyword, or pull a channel's latest uploads, as spreadsheet-ready rows: title, upload date, duration, views, likes, tags, category, language and channel. A channel also gets one row with its followers, total videos, country and creation date. It reads Dailymotion's public Data API, so there is no login, no cookie and no API key.

### How to use

1. **In the Apify Console.** Open the actor page and click **Start** — the `searches` field is already pre-filled with a working example. Results land in the run's dataset as soon as each item is found.
2. **Via the API.** Call it directly with a POST request — no Console needed once you have an API token:
   ```bash
   curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~dailymotion-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
     -X POST \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -d '{"searches":["news"]}'
   ```
3. **On a schedule.** Save this actor as an Apify **Task** with the input you want, then add a **Schedule** (hourly, daily, weekly) so it runs on its own — no server of your own required.

### Input

```json
{
  "searches": [
    "news"
  ]
}
```

One search per line, the same words you would type into Dailymotion's search box. Each search returns up to 'Most videos per search or channel' videos, newest first by default. Used when 'What do you need back?' is set to searches or both. Accepted formats: news, football highlights, minecraft.

### What you get

- **Video rows** from a keyword search (up to 1,000 per search, Dailymotion's own cap) or from a channel's uploads (newest first).
- **One channel row** per channel: followers, total videos, country, verified flag, creation date.
- Filters that really change the result: order (newest, most viewed, best match), uploaded after, category, language and minimum length. Each is sent to Dailymotion for searches and applied on our side for channel videos, so they behave the same either way.
- **A new-video monitor**: switch on "Only return videos that are new since the last run" and a schedule only ever returns, and bills, fresh uploads.

A search or channel that finds nothing, and a channel that does not exist, cost nothing. Video rows and channel rows are billed separately, only for rows you actually receive.

### Examples

Search, 30 newest videos for each keyword:

```json
{ "mode": "search", "searches": ["football", "minecraft"], "maxVideos": 30 }
```

Two channels, the channel row plus their last 50 videos, long videos only:

```json
{ "mode": "channels", "channels": ["Beinsports-FR", "https://www.dailymotion.com/x1jf2q2"], "maxVideos": 50, "minDurationMinutes": 10 }
```

Weekly digest of new football videos in English, last 7 days only:

```json
{ "mode": "search", "searches": ["football"], "language": "en", "createdAfter": "7d", "deltaMode": true, "deltaName": "football-weekly" }
```

### Limits worth knowing

- Dailymotion stops any single search at 1,000 results. The actor reads at most 100 per page and ten pages, one request per second.
- "Category" is Dailymotion's own category id (news, sport, music, fun, tech, travel, videogames), not the uploader.
- Descriptions are cut at 500 characters. No comments, no viewer names and no personal contact data are collected.
- Channel videos are read newest first and scanned up to 1,000 deep when a filter is on, so a very narrow filter on a huge channel can return fewer than "Most videos".

### Output

One row per video, plus one row per channel, for example:

| query | found | status | rowType | videoId | title | url | createdAt | durationSec | views | likes | channel | channelName | category | language | tags | description | thumbnailUrl | channelId | followers | videoCount | country | verified | newVideoCount | isNew | firstSeenAt | scrapedAt |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| news | true | OK | \<row type (video or channel)> | <video id> | <video title> | <video or channel link> | \<uploaded (video) or channel created> | \<duration (seconds)> | <views> | <likes> | <channel username> | <channel display name> | <category> | <language> | <tags> | \<description (first 500 characters)> | <thumbnail image> | <channel id> | <channel followers> | <channel total videos> | <channel country> | <channel verified> | <new videos since last run> | \<is this video new?> | <first seen on a run> | 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z |

A miss comes back as a row with `"found": false` and is never charged.

### Questions

**Do I need a Dailymotion account or API key?** No. The public Data API answers logged-out.

**Why fewer videos than I asked for?** The search ran out of matches, hit Dailymotion's 1,000 cap, or a filter removed the rest. The run log says which.

**Can I get new videos only?** Yes, see the monitor option above; the first run returns everything it sees and remembers it.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event. A flat per-run fee covers session/proxy warmup; you're billed
per item only when data is actually found and returned — see
`.actor/pay_per_event.json` for exact prices. A miss is never charged.

### Use it from Clay, n8n, Make, or an AI agent

This actor runs synchronously over plain HTTP — call it directly from a script, a workflow tool, or an AI agent, no Apify Console needed once you have an API token.

```bash
curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~dailymotion-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
  -X POST \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searches":["news"]}'
```

**n8n.** Add an HTTP Request node: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~dailymotion-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body Content Type `JSON`, JSON Body `{"searches":["news"]}` (swap in an expression from an earlier node for a real value).

**Clay.** Add an "HTTP API" column: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~dailymotion-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body `{"searches":["{{search or channel}}"]}`, mapping the row's search or channel into the `searches` array.

**MCP.** In Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client with the Apify MCP server, ask for "Dailymotion Scraper | Apify" — the agent will find and run this actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `searches` (type: `array`):

One search per line, the same words you would type into Dailymotion's search box. Each search returns up to 'Most videos per search or channel' videos, newest first by default. Used when 'What do you need back?' is set to searches or both. Accepted formats: news, football highlights, minecraft. You're only charged for the ones we actually find — a miss costs nothing.

## `channels` (type: `array`):

One per line: a channel username such as Beinsports-FR, its id such as x1jf2q2, or its dailymotion.com link. Each channel gives one channel row (followers, total videos, country, created) plus its latest videos. Used when 'What do you need back?' is set to channels or both. A channel that does not exist costs nothing.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Pick the option that matches what you need — you can leave this on the recommended setting.

## `maxVideos` (type: `integer`):

You pay per video row returned, so this is your budget control. Dailymotion stops any single search at 1,000 results. Set 0 on a channel to get the channel row only.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

How searches are ordered. Channels always come back newest first, which is also what the monitoring option below relies on.

## `createdAfter` (type: `string`):

A date such as 2026-10-01, or a relative window such as 7d (the last 7 days). Applies to searches and to channel videos.

## `category` (type: `string`):

Dailymotion's own category id, for example news, sport, music, fun, tech, travel, videogames. Applies to searches and to channel videos.

## `language` (type: `string`):

A two-letter language code such as en, fr, es, de, pt, tr. Applies to searches and to channel videos.

## `minDurationMinutes` (type: `integer`):

For example 10 to skip short clips. Applies to searches and to channel videos.

## `deltaMode` (type: `boolean`):

Turns this actor into a new-video monitor. A video counts as new when its Dailymotion video ID has not been returned for that search or channel by a previous run of the same watchlist. Already-seen videos are dropped, so you only pay for and see fresh ones. A channel's row still comes back (with 'New videos since last run'). The first run has nothing to compare against, so it returns every video and remembers it.

## `deltaName` (type: `string`):

Leave empty and we derive one from your searches, channels and filters, so two schedules keep separate memories. Type your own name to keep one memory across list edits. Naming a watchlist with the checkbox above off returns every video but still marks each with 'Is this video new?' and 'First seen'.

## `testRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on to test your input on a small sample before running the full list. Turn it off to process everything.

## `onlyFound` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep rows where something was actually found. Misses are always free, whether or not you show them here.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep results that mention at least one of these words (e.g. a job title, a city, a product name). Leave empty to keep everything.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Drop any result that mentions one of these words. Leave empty to skip nothing.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Stop the run once this many results have been found — useful for a quick, cheap sample. Leave blank for no limit.

## `columns` (type: `array`):

Choose which pieces of information to include in each result row. All are included by default.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep conservative — this target has no browser fallback, so getting blocked costs more than slow-and-steady.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy config. Residential recommended for anti-bot-sensitive targets.
