## Pricing

from $2.50 / 1,000 opportunity notice returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SAM.gov Opportunity Alerts: New Federal Contracts

**Get new US federal contract opportunities from SAM.gov by NAICS code, keyword, set-aside, or
agency, as soon as they're posted.** Search SAM.gov — the US government's own contract
opportunities system — by one or more NAICS codes, keywords matched against the notice title and
description, set-aside type, agency, place of performance, or any combination. Turn on monitoring
mode and run it on a schedule to get only the notices that are new since your last run, charged per
notice and free on a quiet day.

Works **without any key** using SAM.gov's own public search (the same JSON endpoint its own search
page calls); add your own free SAM.gov public API key for the authenticated GSA Opportunities API,
which additionally exposes a verified per-notice NAICS code. This actor covers **US federal
contracts only** — it does not cover EU tenders (see `eu-tender-alerts`) or UK tenders, which are a
different, separately-built scope.

### How to use

1. **In the Apify Console.** Open the actor page and click **Start** — the `naicsCodes` field is already pre-filled with a working example. Results land in the run's dataset as soon as each item is found.
2. **Via the API.** Call it directly with a POST request — no Console needed once you have an API token:
   ```bash
   curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~sam-gov-opportunity-alerts/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
     -X POST \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -d '{"naicsCodes":["541511"]}'
   ```
3. **On a schedule.** Save this actor as an Apify **Task** with the input you want, then add a **Schedule** (hourly, daily, weekly) so it runs on its own — no server of your own required.

### Input

```json
{
  "naicsCodes": [
    "541511"
  ]
}
```

One NAICS code per line (e.g. 541511 for custom computer programming services). Combine with keywords below (optional). Leave empty to search by keyword alone. Accepted formats: 541511, 236220.

One combined search runs per call: `naicsCodes` and `keywords` are each OR'd internally and matched
against notices (NAICS filtered server-side; keywords matched against title/description); optional
`setAsides`, `noticeTypes`, `agencies`, and `placeOfPerformanceStates` each narrow the result
further. At least one of `naicsCodes` or `keywords` must be set. Without an `apiKey`, results come
from SAM.gov's own public search (no per-notice NAICS code or quota); with your own `apiKey`, from
the authenticated GSA Opportunities API (per-notice NAICS code, a role-based daily quota — GSA's own
docs don't publish the exact number for non-federal accounts, only that it's role-based). The search
run itself is free; you're billed per notice actually returned.

### Output

One row per item, for example:

| query | found | status | searchSummary | opportunityCount | truncated | monitorStatus | opportunities | noticeId | solicitationNumber | title | noticeType | agency | office | naicsCode | setAside | postedDate | responseDeadline | placeOfPerformance | pointOfContactEmail | description | samUrl | route | isNew | firstSeenAt | scrapedAt |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 541511 | true | OK | <search run> | <opportunities returned> | <more results were available> | <monitoring status> | \<all opportunities (full list)> | <notice id> | <solicitation number> | <notice title> | <notice type> | <agency> | <office> | <naics code> | <set-aside type> | <posted on> | <response deadline> | <place of performance> | <contracting officer email> | \<description (excerpt)> | \<sam.gov notice page> | <route used> | \<is this notice new?> | <first seen on a run> | 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z |

A miss comes back as a row with `"found": false` and is never charged.

### Pricing

- **Opportunity notice returned**: $5 per 1,000 opportunitys

Plus a $0.00005 start fee per run. Each event above is billed independently, only when it actually returns data — misses (`found:false`) are never charged.

### Example runs

Paste any of these into the Input tab and press Start. All three return rows with no key, no token
needed beyond your own Apify API token, using the keyless route:

1. `{"naicsCodes":["541511"],"postedWithinDays":30}` — custom computer programming services,
   last 30 days. Live-verified this build: 4 opportunities (one Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, two
   Special Notices, one Sources Sought), dated 2026-09-09 through 2026-09-14.
2. `{"keywords":["cybersecurity"],"postedWithinDays":14}` — keyword search across all NAICS codes.
3. `{"naicsCodes":["236220"],"setAsides":"small business","postedWithinDays":30}` — commercial/
   institutional building construction, small-business set-asides only.

### Use it from Clay, n8n, Make, or an AI agent

This actor runs synchronously over plain HTTP — call it directly from a script, a workflow tool, or an AI agent, no Apify Console needed once you have an API token.

```bash
curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~sam-gov-opportunity-alerts/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
  -X POST \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"naicsCodes":["541511"]}'
```

**n8n.** Add an HTTP Request node: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~sam-gov-opportunity-alerts/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body Content Type `JSON`, JSON Body `{"naicsCodes":["541511"]}` (swap in an expression from an earlier node for a real value).

**Clay.** Add an "HTTP API" column: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~sam-gov-opportunity-alerts/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body `{"naicsCodes":["{{search}}"]}`, mapping the row's search into the `naicsCodes` array.

**MCP.** In Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client with the Apify MCP server, ask for "SAM.gov opportunity alerts by NAICS code" — the agent will find and run this actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `naicsCodes` (type: `array`):

One NAICS code per line (e.g. 541511 for custom computer programming services). Combine with keywords below (optional). Leave empty to search by keyword alone. Accepted formats: 541511, 236220. You're only charged for the ones we actually find — a miss costs nothing.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Matched against the notice title/description (OR'd). Leave empty to search by NAICS code alone.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Without a key, this actor still runs, using sam.gov's own public search (NAICS filtering, no per-notice NAICS code or quota). Add your own free API key for the authenticated GSA Opportunities API (per-notice NAICS code, role-based daily quota — GSA's own docs don't publish the exact number, see README). Get one by registering an account at sam.gov, then requesting a Public API Key on your Account Details page.

## `testRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on to test your input on a small sample before running the full list. Turn it off to process everything.

## `onlyFound` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep rows where something was actually found. Misses are always free, whether or not you show them here.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep results that mention at least one of these words (e.g. a job title, a city, a product name). Leave empty to keep everything.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Drop any result that mentions one of these words. Leave empty to skip nothing.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Up to 1,000. Caps how many notices you get (and pay for) in one run.

## `setAsides` (type: `string`):

Only keep notices with this set-aside type. "any" keeps every set-aside status.

## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):

Optional. One or more of: solicitation, presolicitation, sources sought, combined synopsis, award, all. Leave empty for the default (all notice types except award).

## `agencies` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep notices whose agency name contains one of these (OR'd, case-insensitive, e.g. "Army", "General Services Administration"). Leave empty for all agencies.

## `placeOfPerformanceStates` (type: `array`):

Optional. 2-letter US state codes (VA, CA, TX...). Matched as OR. Leave empty for all states.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

How far back to search by posted date.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

On: only new notice IDs since your last run are returned and charged for — run this on a schedule as a contract-opportunity alert. Off: every matching notice is returned every time.

## `deltaName` (type: `string`):

Optional. Name this search's monitoring memory so you can tell two schedules of this actor apart, or keep one memory across an input change. Leave empty to auto-derive one from your filters.

## `columns` (type: `array`):

Choose which pieces of information to include in each result row. All are included by default.

## `expandRows` (type: `boolean`):

When on, each opportunity found gets its own row instead of being grouped under its search. You're still only charged once per search, no matter how many rows it produces.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep conservative — this target has no browser fallback, so getting blocked costs more than slow-and-steady.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy config. Residential recommended for anti-bot-sensitive targets.
