## Pricing

from $1.52 / 1,000 threads post returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Threads Posts Scraper: Latest Posts, Likes & Alerts

Paste Threads handles or profile URLs and get each account's latest posts with likes, replies,
reposts, quotes, media, exact timestamps, and follower counts. Set it on a schedule with delta mode
to return only new posts since the last run, pushed directly to your Discord, Slack, or Telegram webhook.

Every post is read live from the profile page's own structured data. No login, no account cookies, no
browser automation, and no third-party database.

### Who it's for

- **Social media managers & brand trackers:** Track competitor announcements and creator posts the moment they go live.
- **Creator agencies & talent managers:** Monitor posting frequency, engagement metrics (likes, replies, reposts), and media types across talent rosters.
- **Automation & webhook builders:** Stream new creator posts directly into Slack channels, Discord communities, or Telegram groups via webhooks.
- **Content researchers:** Scrape recent posts from any public Threads user without needing an API key or Meta developer account.

### Why this one

- **Zero-login & cookie-free:** Public Threads profile pages carry structured post payloads directly in their HTML. This actor extracts them without requiring your own account or browser sessions.
- **Live engagement metrics:** Accurate like counts, direct reply counts, repost counts, and quote counts for every returned post.
- **Delta monitoring & webhooks:** With `onlyNewSinceLastRun` enabled, the actor remembers previously seen posts in a named KV store (45-day retention). Only brand-new posts are returned and billed.
- **Direct alerts:** Configure `notifyUrl` to post new items to Discord, Slack, Telegram, or custom webhook endpoints automatically.
- **Fair pay-per-event pricing:** You only pay for returned posts ($0.002 per post on Free, less on paid plans). Non-existent handles and monitoring runs with zero new posts are never charged.

### What you get

Every output row represents one post and contains:

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `query` | text | The handle or URL you submitted |
| `found` | boolean | `true` if the handle was found and posts retrieved |
| `status` | text | `OK` or error code (`NOT_FOUND`, `BLOCKED`, `BAD_FORMAT`) |
| `handle` | text | Threads handle of the post author |
| `postCode` | text | Unique post shortcode / ID |
| `postUrl` | link | Direct link to the post on Threads |
| `text` | text | Full caption or text content |
| `postedAt` | date | Exact ISO timestamp when the post was created |
| `likeCount` | number | Number of likes |
| `replyCount` | number | Number of direct replies |
| `repostCount` | number | Number of reposts |
| `quoteCount` | number | Number of quotes |
| `isRepost` | boolean | Whether this was a repost |
| `mediaType` | text | Type of media (`text`, `image`, `video`, `carousel`) |
| `mediaUrls` | array | Direct links to attached media images or video files |
| `authorFollowerCount` | number | Follower count of the author |
| `isVerified` | boolean | Whether the author has a verified badge |
| `isNew` | boolean | Whether the post is new since last run (when monitoring) |
| `firstSeenAt` | date | When this post was first detected |
| `notifyErrors` | array | Any webhook delivery errors |

### Example runs

#### 1. Alert to Discord on new creator posts

For social teams tracking executive or creator accounts:

```json
{
  "handles": ["zuck", "mosseri"],
  "onlyNewSinceLastRun": true,
  "notifyUrl": "https://discord.com/api/webhooks/...",
  "notifyFormat": "discord"
}
```

*The one field that changes:* Replace `handles` with the creators you want to watch.

#### 2. High-engagement posts filter

For viral content analysis and research:

```json
{
  "handles": ["nasa", "natgeo"],
  "minLikes": 1000,
  "maxPostsPerHandle": 10
}
```

*The one field that changes:* Adjust `minLikes` to match your engagement threshold.

#### 3. Creator post archive

For backing up recent posts from a creator:

```json
{
  "handles": ["zuck"],
  "maxPostsPerHandle": 10,
  "includeReposts": true
}
```

*The one field that changes:* Set `includeReposts: true` to capture shared posts.

### Price

- **Threads post returned**: $2 per 1,000 posts

Plus a $0.002 start fee per run. Each event above is billed independently, only when it actually returns data — misses (`found:false`) are never charged.

### Limits and boundaries

- **~10 most recent posts per handle per run:** This is the logged-out page capacity served by Threads without login.
- **Hourly monitoring recommendation:** For prolific posters, run the monitor hourly so no posts roll off the 10-post window between runs.
- **No keyword search:** Threads requires login to search by keyword or tag; this actor is strictly a user posts lookup.
- **Replies to posts are not included:** Only top-level posts on the profile feed are retrieved.

### How to use

1. **In the Apify Console.** Open the actor page and click **Start** — the `handles` field is already pre-filled with a working example. Results land in the run's dataset as soon as each item is found.
2. **Via the API.** Call it directly with a POST request — no Console needed once you have an API token:
   ```bash
   curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~threads-posts-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
     -X POST \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -d '{"handles":["zuck","mosseri"]}'
   ```
3. **On a schedule.** Save this actor as an Apify **Task** with the input you want, then add a **Schedule** (hourly, daily, weekly) so it runs on its own — no server of your own required.

### Input

```json
{
  "handles": [
    "zuck",
    "mosseri"
  ]
}
```

One Threads handle or profile URL per line. Accepts handle, @handle, or full profile URL (threads.com/@username or threads.net/@username). Accepted formats: zuck, @mosseri, https://www.threads.com/@zuck, https://www.threads.net/@mosseri.

### Sample output

| query | found | status | handle | postCode | postUrl | text | postedAt | likeCount | replyCount | repostCount | quoteCount | isRepost | mediaType | mediaUrls | authorFollowerCount | isVerified | isNew | firstSeenAt | notifyErrors | scrapedAt |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| zuck | true | OK | <threads handle> | <post code> | <post url> | <post text> | <posted at> | <likes> | <replies> | <reposts> | <quotes> | <is repost> | <media type> | <media urls> | <author followers> | <verified author> | <is new post> | <first seen at> | <notification errors> | 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z |

### Use it from Clay, n8n, Make, or an AI agent

This actor runs synchronously over plain HTTP — call it directly from a script, a workflow tool, or an AI agent, no Apify Console needed once you have an API token.

```bash
curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~threads-posts-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
  -X POST \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"handles":["zuck","mosseri"]}'
```

**n8n.** Add an HTTP Request node: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~threads-posts-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body Content Type `JSON`, JSON Body `{"handles":["zuck","mosseri"]}` (swap in an expression from an earlier node for a real value).

**Clay.** Add an "HTTP API" column: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~threads-posts-lookup/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body `{"handles":["{{handle}}"]}`, mapping the row's handle into the `handles` array.

**MCP.** In Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client with the Apify MCP server, ask for "Threads posts scraper by username" — the agent will find and run this actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `handles` (type: `array`):

One Threads handle or profile URL per line. Accepts handle, @handle, or full profile URL (threads.com/@username or threads.net/@username). Accepted formats: zuck, @mosseri, https://www.threads.com/@zuck, https://www.threads.net/@mosseri. You're only charged for the ones we actually find — a miss costs nothing.

## `testRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on to test your input on a small sample before running the full list. Turn it off to process everything.

## `onlyFound` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep rows where something was actually found. Misses are always free, whether or not you show them here.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep results that mention at least one of these words (e.g. a job title, a city, a product name). Leave empty to keep everything.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Drop any result that mentions one of these words. Leave empty to skip nothing.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Stop the run once this many results have been found — useful for a quick, cheap sample. Leave blank for no limit.

## `maxPostsPerHandle` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Caps how many posts each handle returns, newest first, which is also the most you are billed for that handle. The public Threads page carries up to 10 recent posts without login.

## `includeReposts` (type: `boolean`):

When on, reposts by this handle are included. Default is false (only original posts are returned).

## `minLikes` (type: `integer`):

Keep only posts with at least this many likes. Default 0 (no minimum).

## `sinceHours` (type: `integer`):

Only return posts from the last N hours. 0 = no time limit.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turns this run into a monitoring alert. A post counts as new when its shortcode has not been seen by a previous run of the same watchlist. Already-seen posts are dropped before you are billed, so a run with nothing new costs only the start fee. Post IDs not seen for 45 days are forgotten.

## `deltaName` (type: `string`):

Leave empty and one is derived from your handles and filters. Type your own name to share or isolate delta state across scheduled runs.

## `notifyUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional. After the posts are billed, each NEW post is posted here as one message: handle, text, engagement and a link, with a NEW POST badge. Alerts only go out with monitoring on. Stored encrypted, never logged or written to the results.

## `notifyFormat` (type: `string`):

Leave on "Detect from the link": discord.com links get Discord messages, hooks.slack.com Slack, api.telegram.org Telegram, anything else JSON. Pick one only to override that.

## `maxNotificationsPerRun` (type: `integer`):

Up to 100. Above this, one "+N more" message says how many more posts are in the run's dataset. Default 20.

## `columns` (type: `array`):

Choose which pieces of information to include in each result row. All are included by default.

## `expandRows` (type: `boolean`):

When on, each post found gets its own row instead of being grouped under its handle. You're still only charged once per handle, no matter how many rows it produces.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep conservative — this target has no browser fallback, so getting blocked costs more than slow-and-steady.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy config. Residential recommended for anti-bot-sensitive targets.
