## Pricing

from $3.00 / 1,000 new company returneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Company Incorporation Alerts by SIC Code

Get every UK company newly incorporated for a SIC code, postcode area, or name filter, as a sales
lead-gen and compliance alert, not a one-company lookup. Keyless by default against the public
Companies House register; an optional free Companies House API key routes to the authenticated
advanced-search API instead. Turn on monitoring mode to get (and pay for) only companies new since
your last run, ideal for a daily or weekly schedule.

### How to use

1. **In the Apify Console.** Open the actor page and click **Start** — the `sicCodes` field is already pre-filled with a working example. Results land in the run's dataset as soon as each item is found.
2. **Via the API.** Call it directly with a POST request — no Console needed once you have an API token:
   ```bash
   curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~uk-company-incorporation-alert/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
     -X POST \
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
     -d '{"sicCodes":["62012"]}'
   ```
3. **On a schedule.** Save this actor as an Apify **Task** with the input you want, then add a **Schedule** (hourly, daily, weekly) so it runs on its own — no server of your own required.

### Input

```json
{
  "sicCodes": [
    "62012"
  ]
}
```

One SIC code per line, OR'd together. Combine with the filters below (postcode prefixes, company name, type, date window) — all optional but at least one of them, or a company-type/postcode/name filter, is required. Leave empty to filter by postcode prefix or company name alone. Accepted formats: 62012, 62020, 41100.

```json
{
  "sicCodes": ["62012"],
  "postcodePrefixes": ["EC1"],
  "companyTypes": "ltd",
  "incorporatedFrom": "2026-09-24",
  "incorporatedTo": "2026-10-01",
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

This actor runs ONE combined search per run, not one search per input line: every `sicCodes` entry
is OR'd together, then AND'd with `postcodePrefixes`, `companyTypes`, `companyNameIncludes`, and the
incorporation date window (defaults to the last 7 days). At least one of `sicCodes`,
`postcodePrefixes`, `companyNameIncludes`, or a non-"all" `companyTypes` is required — a bare
date-range search over every UK company is rejected, since that's typically thousands of companies
a week.

### Output

One row per company found, for example:

| query | found | status | searchSummary | companyCount | truncated | monitorStatus | companies | companyNumber | companyName | incorporatedOn | companyType | companyStatus | sicCodes | sicDescriptions | registeredAddress | postcode | locality | companyUrl | route | isNew | firstSeenAt | scrapedAt |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 62012 | true | OK | <search run> | <companies returned> | <more results were available> | <monitoring status> | \<all companies (full list)> | <company number> | <company name> | <incorporated on> | <company type> | <status> | <sic codes> | <sic descriptions> | <registered office address> | <postcode> | \<locality / town> | <companies house page> | <source route> | \<is this company new?> | <first seen on a run> | 1970-01-01T00:00:00.000Z |

A miss comes back as a row with `"found": false` and is never charged.

### Example runs

Live-verified against the public register, keyless, no proxy:

**New software companies by SIC code.** `{"sicCodes": ["62012"], "incorporatedFrom": "2026-09-24", "incorporatedTo": "2026-10-01"}` — 976 companies incorporated under SIC 62012 ("Business and domestic software development") in the last 7 days, e.g. MULLO LTD (17478834, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ) and SHOPIYZ TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED (17479042, London N3 2LN).

**New companies in a postcode area.** `{"sicCodes": ["62012", "62020"], "postcodePrefixes": ["EC1"]}` — narrows the same SIC-code search to just the EC1 postcode area, a common agency/insurer lead-gen pattern.

**Weekly incorporation alert (monitoring).** `{"sicCodes": ["41100"], "onlyNewSinceLastRun": true, "deltaName": "construction-developers"}` on a weekly schedule — only companies newly incorporated under SIC 41100 ("Development of building projects") since the last run are returned and billed; a quiet week with no new companies is never charged.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event. A flat per-run fee covers session/proxy warmup; you're billed
per item only when data is actually found and returned — see
`.actor/pay_per_event.json` for exact prices. A miss is never charged.

### Use it from Clay, n8n, Make, or an AI agent

This actor runs synchronously over plain HTTP — call it directly from a script, a workflow tool, or an AI agent, no Apify Console needed once you have an API token.

```bash
curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~uk-company-incorporation-alert/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>" \
  -X POST \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"sicCodes":["62012"]}'
```

**n8n.** Add an HTTP Request node: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~uk-company-incorporation-alert/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body Content Type `JSON`, JSON Body `{"sicCodes":["62012"]}` (swap in an expression from an earlier node for a real value).

**Clay.** Add an "HTTP API" column: Method `POST`, URL `https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/accountable_eel~uk-company-incorporation-alert/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_TOKEN>`, Body `{"sicCodes":["{{search}}"]}`, mapping the row's search into the `sicCodes` array.

**MCP.** In Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client with the Apify MCP server, ask for "new UK company incorporations by SIC code" — the agent will find and run this actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `sicCodes` (type: `array`):

One SIC code per line, OR'd together. Combine with the filters below (postcode prefixes, company name, type, date window) — all optional but at least one of them, or a company-type/postcode/name filter, is required. Leave empty to filter by postcode prefix or company name alone. Accepted formats: 62012, 62020, 41100. You're only charged for the ones we actually find — a miss costs nothing.

## `incorporatedFrom` (type: `string`):

Defaults to 7 days before today if left empty.

## `incorporatedTo` (type: `string`):

Defaults to today if left empty.

## `testRun` (type: `boolean`):

Turn this on to test your input on a small sample before running the full list. Turn it off to process everything.

## `onlyFound` (type: `boolean`):

Only keep rows where something was actually found. Misses are always free, whether or not you show them here.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only keep results that mention at least one of these words (e.g. a job title, a city, a product name). Leave empty to keep everything.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional. Drop any result that mentions one of these words. Leave empty to skip nothing.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Up to 2,000. Caps how many companies you get (and pay for) in one run.

## `companyTypes` (type: `string`):

Restrict to one company type, or leave as "All types".

## `postcodePrefixes` (type: `array`):

Optional. e.g. "EC1", "M" — matched as OR against the registered office postcode's prefix. Applied after fetching (Companies House has no server-side postcode-prefix filter), so it never reduces the cost of the underlying search, only what you're billed and shown.

## `companyNameIncludes` (type: `string`):

Optional. Matches company names containing this text.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Optional. Your own free Companies House API key (https://developer.company-information.service.gov.uk/) routes this run through the authenticated advanced-search API instead of the public register website. Leave empty to use the free public register, which returns the same incorporation date, type, status, address, and SIC codes.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

On: only new company numbers since your last run are returned and charged for — run this on a schedule as an incorporation alert. Off: every matching company is returned every time.

## `deltaName` (type: `string`):

Optional. Name this search's monitoring memory so you can tell two schedules of this actor apart, or keep one memory across an input change. Leave empty to auto-derive one from your filters.

## `columns` (type: `array`):

Choose which pieces of information to include in each result row. All are included by default.

## `expandRows` (type: `boolean`):

When on, each company found gets its own row instead of being grouped under its search. You're still only charged once per search, no matter how many rows it produces.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests. Keep conservative — this target has no browser fallback, so getting blocked costs more than slow-and-steady.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy config. Residential recommended for anti-bot-sensitive targets.
