## Pricing

from $7.50 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## 💊 DailyMed Drug Labels Scraper

> **Every drug label listing on DailyMed as a flat row: label title, labeler, SPL set id, version, publication date and a direct link.** Search by drug name or by manufacturer, cap the run, export to CSV, Excel, JSON or XML. No API key and no registration.

DailyMed is the National Library of Medicine's index of FDA drug labels, and it is the public record of who is currently marketing what. The site answers one search at a time and has no export button. This Actor runs the search for you and writes each label into a dataset. Each row identifies the label and links to it; it does not copy the label text.

| Who uses it | What they use the index for |
|---|---|
| 🏪 Buyers of pharmacies and compounders | Checking which labelers are actively publishing, and how recently |
| 📦 Buyers of repackagers and distributors | Seeing the breadth of a target's label catalogue before trusting the product list in the CIM |
| ⚖️ Regulatory and diligence analysts | Capturing set id and SPL version so a label can be cited and re-checked later |
| 🔬 Researchers | Building a dated list of labels for a drug name across every labeler that files one |

### 📋 What it does

> 💡 **Why it matters:** in a pharmacy or drug distribution deal, the seller's product list is a claim. DailyMed is the filing. A labeler that has not published a label in years is telling you something.

- 🔎 **Searches by drug name**, by manufacturer, or by neither, which returns the most recently published labels.
- 🆔 **Returns the SPL set id**, the stable identifier that lets you find the same label again after it is revised.
- 🔢 **Returns the SPL version**, so you can tell a first filing from a twelfth revision.
- 📅 **Returns the publication date** as DailyMed prints it.
- 🔗 **Links straight to the label page** on dailymed.nlm.nih.gov for the full text.
- 💾 **Exports to CSV, Excel, JSON or XML**, from the run page or the API.

### 📊 Output

Every label is one flat row. `null` means DailyMed did not supply a value for that field on the index page.

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 💊 `title` | string | Label title as filed, which carries the drug, the form and the labeler in brackets, for example `METOPROLOL TARTRATE TABLET [REMEDYREPACK INC.]` |
| 🆔 `setid` | string | SPL set id, the stable identifier for this label across revisions |
| 🔢 `spl_version` | integer | Version number of the label filing |
| 📅 `published_date` | string | Publication date as DailyMed prints it, for example `Sep 11, 2026` |
| 🔗 `url` | string | Direct link to the label page on DailyMed |
| 📋 `marketing_status` | string | Marketing status. `null` in the runs observed so far |
| 🏭 `packager` | string | Packager as a separate field. `null` in the runs observed so far; the labeler appears inside `title` |
| 🔢 `ndcCount` | integer | Count of NDC codes on the label. `null` in the runs observed so far |
| 🕒 `scrapedAt` | string | ISO timestamp of collection |
| ⚠️ `error` | string | `null` on a normal row |

### ✨ Why choose this Actor

| | What you get |
|---|---|
| **The federal index** | Rows come from the National Library of Medicine's own listing, not from a reseller's catalogue. |
| **No credentials** | DailyMed is public. No key, no account, no quota to negotiate. |
| **Citable identifiers** | Set id plus version means a label you found today can be produced again in a data room. |
| **Bulk instead of one search at a time** | Set a drug name and a cap, then walk away. |
| **You pay per row** | No subscription. A search that returns nothing costs nothing. |

### 🚀 How to use it

1. [Create a free Apify account](https://console.apify.com/sign-up). New accounts start with $5 of credit.
2. Open the Actor and select **Try for free**.
3. Put a drug name in `drugName`, a company in `manufacturer`, or leave both empty for the latest labels.
4. Set `maxItems` to cap the run.
5. Select **Start**, then export from the **Dataset** tab as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML.

A first run:

```json
{
  "maxItems": 10
}
```

One drug, a deeper pull:

```json
{
  "drugName": "metoprolol",
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

### ⚙️ Input

| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `drugName` | No | Filter by drug name. Leave empty for no name filter |
| `manufacturer` | No | Filter by manufacturer. Leave empty for no manufacturer filter |
| `maxItems` | No | How many labels to collect per run. Default 10 |

### 💰 Pricing

Pay per result. No subscription, and no Apify platform usage on top.

| Apify plan | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold | Platinum | Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Per label row | $0.0085 | $0.0082 | $0.0078 | $0.0075 | $0.0075 | $0.0075 |

| Rows collected | Cost on the Free plan |
|---|---|
| 100 | $0.85 |
| 1,000 | $8.50 |
| 10,000 | $85.00 |

**Free plan runs** return up to 10 rows as a preview. Any paid Apify plan lifts that to 1,000,000 per run.

### 🔌 Integrate with any app

The dataset is available through the Apify API as soon as the run finishes. Use `run-sync-get-dataset-items` for a one-shot call, webhooks to trigger what happens next, or the Make, Zapier, Airbyte and LangChain integrations listed on the Actor page.

### 🤖 Use with an AI agent

Give an agent live access to the label index over the Model Context Protocol:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=acquistion-automation/dailymed-drug-labels-scraper"
```

Then ask it in plain language which labels a company has filed and have it read the result back.

### ❓ Frequently asked questions

**Does a row contain the label text, the active ingredients or the NDC codes?**
No. A row identifies the label: title, set id, version, publication date and link. Open the `url` for ingredients, dosage form and packaging detail.

**Where is the labeler or manufacturer name?**
Inside `title`, in square brackets at the end, for example `[REMEDYREPACK INC.]`. The separate `packager` field came back `null` in the runs observed so far.

**What is a set id?**
The identifier DailyMed keeps for a label across every revision. `spl_version` tells you which revision you captured, so a citation stays checkable.

**Why do several rows look like the same drug?**
Each labeler files its own label, and repackagers file again. A common generic will appear many times under different companies.

**Do I need a proxy?**
No. Requests and retries are handled inside the Actor and included in the price.

**What can I export?**
CSV, Excel, JSON and XML from the run page, or JSON straight from the API.

### About Acquisition Automation Co.

We build automation for people buying businesses. The repetitive part of an acquisition search, checking listings, pulling public records, tracking owners and assets, is work a machine should do, so the buyer's time goes into judging deals instead of collecting them.

We add new Actors regularly. If there is a source you need and do not see here, tell us.
