## Pricing

from $3.62 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### Twelve Data Exchanges Scraper

**Scrape the full list of stock exchanges from Twelve Data, up to 1,000 exchanges per run.** Every exchange comes with its name, code, country, and timezone. No login or API key required for preview. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Twelve Data's API gives you access to real-time and historical market data, but getting the exchange list itself often requires manual browsing or separate endpoints. This Actor reads the public exchanges endpoint directly and returns each exchange as a clean row with its title, name, code, country, and timezone. No registration or API key needed for a preview of up to 10 exchanges.

| Who uses it | What they scrape Twelve Data for |
|---|---|
| Financial data analysts | Which exchanges are available for a given country or region before building a market data pipeline. |
| Algorithmic traders | To map exchange codes to their full names and timezones for trade scheduling. |
| Market researchers | To compile a global directory of stock exchanges for cross-market analysis. |

### What it does

This Actor collects the list of stock exchanges from Twelve Data's public API and returns each exchange as a flat row with its title, name, code, country, and timezone.

- 🔑 **API key support:** Use your own Twelve Data API key for full access, or leave empty for a demo preview of up to 10 exchanges.
- 📏 **Max items control:** Set the maximum number of exchanges to scrape, from 1 to 1,000,000 (paid users).

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

### What you can do with Twelve Data data

**🌍 Build a global exchange directory.**

A financial data vendor runs this Actor weekly to update a master list of all stock exchanges with their codes and timezones, used to validate incoming trade data.

**⏰ Schedule trades by exchange timezone.**

An algorithmic trader uses the timezone field to automatically adjust trade execution times for each exchange, avoiding off-hours orders.

**📊 Map exchange codes to names for reporting.**

A portfolio manager runs this Actor once to create a lookup table that converts exchange codes (e.g., 'NYSE') into human-readable names in monthly reports.

### Why choose this scraper

| | What you get |
|---|---|
| **Exchange name** | The full display name of the exchange (e.g., New York Stock Exchange). |
| **Exchange code** | The short code used in Twelve Data's API (e.g., NYSE). |
| **Country** | The country where the exchange is located. |
| **Timezone** | The timezone of the exchange (e.g., America/New\_York). |

### How it compares

This Actor focuses on scraping the exchange list from Twelve Data, while Stock Market Analyzer analyzes IDX stocks for dividend and valuation data.

| Feature | Acquisition Automation | Stock Market Analyzer |
|---|---|---|
| Scrapes Twelve Data exchange list | Yes | Not listed |
| Returns exchange name, code, country, timezone | Yes | Not listed |
| API key support for full access | Yes | Not listed |
| Max items control up to 1,000,000 | Yes | Not listed |
| Predictive dividend dates | Not listed | Yes |
| TTM yield and PE/PB ratios | Not listed | Yes |

### What a Twelve Data record looks like

Every record returns as one flat JSON row. Here is a real one from a run:

```json
{
 "title": "Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos",
 "name": "BCBA",
 "code": "XBUE",
 "country": "Argentina",
 "timezone": "America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires",
 "scrapedAt": "2026-09-27T11:35:02.372Z"
}
```

Every value above comes from a real run. A field a record does not have comes back as `null`.

### Configure the run

Configure the run by setting the maximum number of exchanges and optionally your API key. The Actor reads the full exchange list from Twelve Data and returns only the fields you need. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

```json
{
 "maxItems": 10,
 "apiKey": "demo"
}
```

A larger pull:

```json
{
 "maxItems": 200,
 "apiKey": "demo"
}
```

### Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. [Upgrade your Apify plan](https://console.apify.com/sign-up) to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

### Run it

1. [Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit](https://console.apify.com/sign-up).
2. Open the [Twelve Data Exchanges Scraper](https://apify.com/acquistion-automation/twelve-data-exchanges-scraper).
3. Set your inputs and any filters, then click **Start**.
4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the **Dataset** tab.

Run it programmatically through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) (`run-sync-get-dataset-items`) or the [ApifyClient](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js) for JavaScript and Python.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Twelve Data through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=acquistion-automation/twelve-data-exchanges-scraper"
```

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

### Troubleshooting

**Why am I getting only 10 exchanges?**

You are using the demo API key (or left the field empty). To get the full list, enter your own Twelve Data API key and increase the maxItems value.

**The run fails with an API error.**

Check that your API key is valid and has not exceeded its rate limit. If you are using the demo key, it may be rate-limited by Twelve Data.

**The output is empty.**

Ensure your API key is correct and that maxItems is set to at least 1. If the API returns an empty list, the exchange data may be temporarily unavailable.

**Can I scrape more than 1,000 exchanges?**

The maxItems field allows up to 1,000,000, but Twelve Data's API may return fewer exchanges. Check your API plan's limits.

### FAQ

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do I need a Twelve Data API key? | No, you can leave the API key field empty to get a preview of up to 10 exchanges. For the full list, you need a valid Twelve Data API key. |
| How many exchanges can I scrape? | Free users are limited to 10 exchanges per run. Paid users can set maxItems up to 1,000,000, but the actual number depends on your API plan. |
| What data fields are returned? | Each exchange row includes title, name, code, country, and timezone. The exact field list is shown in the sample output after a run. |
| Can I scrape historical or real-time data with this Actor? | No, this Actor only scrapes the exchange list. For historical or real-time data, use Twelve Data's other endpoints directly. |
| Is the data updated in real time? | The exchange list is relatively static, but the Actor fetches the latest data from Twelve Data's API each time you run it. |
| What export formats are supported? | You can export the results to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the Apify dataset. |
| Can I filter by country? | No, the Actor returns all exchanges from the API. You can filter the results after export using your own tools. |
| Is there a rate limit? | The rate limit depends on your Twelve Data API plan. The Actor respects the API's response and does not hammer the endpoint. |
