## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## AliExpress Reviews Scraper: Ratings, Photos, Countries

Get AliExpress buyer reviews for any product ID or URL: star rating, review text, English translation, buyer country, SKU bought, date, review photos, follow-up reviews, plus the product's rating breakdown. No browser, no login. $0.40 per 1,000 reviews.

**Pull AliExpress product reviews in bulk, with English translations, without a browser or a login.** Give it AliExpress product IDs or item URLs and it returns every buyer review AliExpress shows: **star rating (1–5), the review text, AliExpress's English translation, the buyer's country, the SKU bought** (colour, size, version), the review date, **buyer photos**, helpful votes, the shipping method, and **follow-up reviews** written days later. Each run also saves the product's **rating breakdown** (average, total, five-star to one-star counts, positive %). Filter to reviews with photos or with follow-ups. Use it for **dropshipping and sourcing due diligence** (check quality before you list a product), product research and competitor analysis, sentiment analysis and AI summaries of buyer feedback, finding recurring defects, and review datasets for analysis or AI agents. Pair it with the AliExpress Product Search Scraper to review the products you find. Buyer names stay masked as AliExpress shows them. **$0.40 per 1,000 reviews**, with no compute bill on top; products without reviews return a free status row.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| productId | rating | date | translatedText | buyerCountry | skuInfo |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1005006177200517 | 5 | 2026-07-21 | Very happy 😁 and the phone is very good and the delivery was very fast. | CL | Color:Green ROM:16g Version:Global Version RAM:2 G |
| 1005006177200517 | 5 | 2026-04-13 | Love this phone great phone love the size very cute | CA | Color:Purple ROM:16g Version:Global Version RAM:2 G |
| 1005006177200517 | 5 | 2026-08-24 | Everything perfect 👌 | ES | Color:Black upgraded ROM:16g Version:Global Version RAM:2 G |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `review` | $0.0004 | per review row | 500 reviews of a product = $0.20 |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at 256 MB = $0.00005 |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `products` | array | no | — | AliExpress product IDs (e.g. 1005006177200517) or item URLs like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006177200517.html (any AliExpress country domain). |
| `maxReviewsPerProduct` | integer | no | `100` | Stop after this many reviews for each product (20 are read per request). Each review is one charged row. |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | `1000` | Stop after this many reviews across all products. |
| `filter` | string | no | `"all"` | All reviews, only reviews with buyer photos, or only reviews with a follow-up (additional) review. |
| `translateTo` | string | no | `"en"` | English: AliExpress adds its English machine translation next to the original text (translatedText). Original only: no translation field. |

### Limits & honest notes

- **Responsible use:** you are responsible for using the data in line with AliExpress's terms and with data-protection law where you are. Reviews are written by private buyers: do not use them to profile people. This actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by AliExpress or Alibaba Group.
- It reads the public review data that AliExpress product pages load (feedback.aliexpress.com, which publishes no robots.txt; www.aliexpress.com's robots.txt explicitly allows its reviews API). There is no login, no cookies, no proxies and no CAPTCHA solving; it sends an honest user agent (ActorForge-AliExpressReviews) and waits at least 1 s between requests.
- Buyer names are shown masked by AliExpress (for example "a\*\*\*r"); anonymous buyers have no name. Buyer avatars and gender are never collected.
- The English translation is AliExpress's own machine translation; it is left empty when the review is already in English.
- AliExpress shows a limited number of reviews per product (usually the most relevant few thousand). The review endpoint is undocumented and may change; if it does, runs return a free page-changed row.
- If AliExpress answers with a block, the run stops at once, keeps the reviews already delivered and adds a free status row.
- Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the run stops cleanly at the cap, with nothing charged twice.
