## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## AutoScout24 Car Listings Scraper: 9 EU Sites + AutoTrader.ca

Scrape used and new car listings from AutoScout24 (Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Luxembourg, .com) and AutoTrader.ca: make, model, version, price, mileage, registration, fuel, gearbox, power, dealer, location, photos. No browser. $0.40 per 1,000 listings.

**An AutoScout24 scraper for car listings across Europe and Canada, with no browser and no proxy bill.** Paste AutoScout24 search URLs with your filters (make, model, price, year, mileage, fuel, region…) or just type makes and models like "bmw/x5", and get one clean row per car from the public results pages: **make, model, model group, version, price and currency, AutoScout24's price rating** (top, good, fair price), **mileage, first registration and model year, fuel, gearbox, power in kW and hp**, engine size, fuel consumption and CO₂, new/used, damage flag, **seller type**, and for dealers the **dealer name, dealer page, office phone and rating**, plus **postcode and city**, photo URLs and the listing URL. It covers **autoscout24.de, .it, .fr, .nl, .be, .at, .es, .lu and .com, plus AutoTrader.ca** (the same platform), with sort by price, newest offers, mileage or registration. Use it for **used car price research and valuation**, dealer stock and competitor monitoring, sourcing cars for export or resale, market analysis by model and region, and car datasets for AI agents. Private sellers' names, phones and addresses are never collected. **$0.40 per 1,000 listings**, with no compute bill on top; problems return a free status row instead of failing.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| title | version | price | currency | mileageKm | firstRegistration | fuel | powerKw | sellerType | city |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| BMW 318 | 3 Limousine 318 i | 2900 | EUR | 248122 | 2009-05 | Benzin | 105 | dealer | Albershausen |
| BMW 118 | d Tempomat TÜV 05/2028 UNFALLFREI 143 PS | 6600 | EUR | 172000 | 2014-09 | Diesel | 105 | dealer | Hannover |
| BMW 530 | 530 i xDrive | 3700 | EUR | 168000 | 2008-05 | Benzin | 200 | dealer | Kassel |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `listing` | $0.0004 | per car listing row | 2,000 cars (100 result pages) = $0.80 |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at 512 MB = $0.00005 |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `searchUrls` | array | no | — | AutoScout24 results pages with your filters, e.g. https://www.autoscout24.de/lst/bmw/x5?fregfrom=2018\&pricefrom=10000 (any of .de .it .fr .nl .be .at .es .lu .com), or AutoTrader.ca pages like https://www.autotrader.ca/cars/toyota/. Start from a make in the path: AutoScout24's robots.txt disallows /lst?… URLs without one. |
| `makeModels` | array | no | — | Quick searches without a URL: "bmw", "bmw/x5" or "volkswagen golf" (first word = make). Searched on the site chosen under Country. |
| `country` | string | no | `"de"` | Which site the make/model searches run on. Search URLs always use their own site. |
| `sort` | string | no | `"standard"` | Result order. Ignored for a search URL that already sets a sort. |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | `200` | Stop after this many listings in total. Each listing is one charged row. |
| `maxPagesPerSearch` | integer | no | `10` | Results pages per search (20 cars each). AutoScout24 shows at most 20 pages (400 cars) per search, so split big searches with filters (price, year, region) in the URL. |

### Limits & honest notes

- **Responsible use:** you are responsible for using the data in line with the terms of AutoScout24 and AutoTrader.ca and with data-protection law (such as the GDPR) where you are. This actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by AutoScout24 or AutoTrader.ca.
- It reads only the public results pages (/lst/… and /cars/…), which the sites' robots.txt allow, and checks robots.txt before every page. AutoScout24 disallows /lst?… URLs that have no make in the path; those are refused with a free status row. There is no login, no cookies, no proxies and no CAPTCHA solving; it sends an honest user agent (ActorForge-AutoScout24) and waits at least 1.5 s between pages.
- Results-page data only (20 cars per page): no full equipment list or description from the detail page. A search shows at most 20 pages (400 cars), so split big searches with price, year or region filters.
- Personal data is left out: for private sellers there is no name, phone or street (only postcode and city), and dealers' named contact persons are dropped. Dealer company name, dealer page and office phone are business data.
- If a site answers with a block or a challenge, the run stops at once, keeps the listings already delivered and adds a free status row.
- Text such as fuel and gearbox is in the site's language (e.g. "Benzin" on .de). Prices are as shown; dealers sometimes enter placeholder prices such as $1.
- Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the run stops cleanly at the cap, with nothing charged twice. A run with no results returns one free status row.
