## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Page Jobs by Company Name or Domain — Any ATS

Give company names or domains: the actor finds each careers page, detects the ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable and more) and returns every open job in one schema, plus a summary row per company. $0.015 per company with jobs; not-found is free.

Get **jobs by company**: paste company names or domains and get back every open role from each company's own careers page, in one clean schema, without knowing which applicant tracking system they use. This **company career page scraper** fetches the homepage and careers pages (respecting robots.txt), does **ATS detection** on the links and embeds it finds (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable, Recruitee, Teamtailor, Personio, BambooHR; SmartRecruiters, iCIMS, Jobvite, BreezyHR, JazzHR, Rippling, Taleo and SuccessFactors are flagged), falls back to verified board-name guesses on the Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday public APIs, then reads the jobs from the ATS's own public feed: title, department, team, location, remote/hybrid/onsite, employment type, salary where published, posted date and apply link, with an optional full description. Every company also gets a **summary row** (found / no-ats-found / unsupported-ats / blocked / not-found, the ATS, the board URL and the job count), so the run works as a **hiring-signals** feed for sales teams, Clay tables and AI agents: who is hiring, how many roles, on which ATS. In our 27-company test, 21 (78%) were found, including Stripe, Figma, Notion, OpenAI, Salesforce, Adobe and NVIDIA. **$0.015 per company with jobs (up to 500 jobs included)**, about a third of the leading company-lookup actor ($0.045); companies with no ATS, an unsupported ATS, no matching jobs or an unresolvable name are **free**.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| inputCompany | companyName | title | detectedAts | location | workplaceType | detectionMethod | jobUrl |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| notion.com | Notion | Software Engineer, AI Connections (Developer Platform) | ashby | San Francisco, California | remote | link | https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion/1fc309c8-… |
| salesforce.com | Salesforce | Sr. Account Solution Engineer | workday | Italy - Milan | | slug-guess | https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site/job/Italy---Milan/… |
| Stripe | Stripe | Abuse Research Engineer | greenhouse | Remote from the US | remote | slug-guess | https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172503 |
| spotify.com | Spotify | AV Engineer - Platform | lever | Stockholm | onsite | slug-guess | https://jobs.lever.co/spotify/785989a6-… |
| hubspot.com | HubSpot | (summary row: status no-ats-found, 0 jobs, not charged) | | | | | |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `company-lookup` | $0.015 | per company whose ATS was found and whose jobs were delivered (up to maxJobsPerCompany jobs, max 1,000, all included) | 100 companies, 70 with jobs = $1.05; not-found, no-ATS, unsupported-ATS, blocked and zero-match companies cost nothing |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at 512 MB = $0.000025 |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `companies` | array | yes | — | One company per line: a domain (figma.com), a website or careers-page URL (https://www.notion.com/careers), a company name (Stripe — resolved conservatively to stripe.com and verified by the homepage title), or a job-board URL (jobs.lever.co/spotify, company.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/Site). Domains give the best hit rate. |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | integer | no | `500` | Stop after this many jobs for one company. All of them are included in the single per-company price ($0.015). |
| `keywords` | array | no | `[]` | Keep jobs whose title, department or team contains any of these, e.g. 'engineer', 'sales', 'data'. Empty = all jobs. |
| `excludeKeywords` | array | no | `[]` | Drop jobs whose title contains any of these, e.g. 'intern', 'senior'. |
| `locations` | array | no | `[]` | Keep jobs whose location or country contains any of these, e.g. 'London', 'United States', 'Remote'. Empty = anywhere. |
| `remoteOnly` | boolean | no | `false` | Only jobs marked remote by the employer. |
| `postedWithinDays` | integer | no | — | Only jobs first published in the last N days. Leave empty for all open jobs. |
| `includeDescription` | boolean | no | `false` | Add the full plain-text job description to each row (bigger rows, same price). |

### Limits & honest notes

- Jobs are read from Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable, Recruitee, Teamtailor, Personio and BambooHR public feeds. SmartRecruiters (its robots.txt disallows crawling), iCIMS, Jobvite, BreezyHR, JazzHR, Rippling, Taleo and SuccessFactors are detected and reported as unsupported-ats (free). Fully in-house careers sites (e.g. HubSpot, Shopify) return no-ats-found.
- Names are resolved conservatively: only <name>.com (and <name-with-hyphens>.com) are tried, and only accepted when the homepage title or og:site_name contains the name. No search engines are used. If that fails, a Greenhouse/Lever/Ashby board whose name equals the input exactly is accepted; otherwise the row is not-found. Passing domains gives the best hit rate.
- Detection reads static HTML: the homepage, up to 3 careers links found on it, and /careers, /jobs, /company/careers, /about/careers. Careers pages that load their job widget only from JavaScript bundles may be missed; the fallback then guesses the board slug from the domain (e.g. datadoghq.com → greenhouse:datadog) and keeps it only if the board's company name matches the website.
- Workday fallback: the tenant is guessed as the domain stem on the wd1/3/5/10/12/103 data centres, and the main external careers site is taken from the tenant's robots.txt. Workday reads one detail request per job, at most 2 requests at a time per host, so 500 Workday jobs take about 2-3 minutes.
- Workday and some company sites rate-limit shared cloud IPs (HTTP 429). The actor backs off and retries once (honouring Retry-After, up to 30 s); if the site still refuses, the company row is failed with a note and is not charged, and the remaining companies on that host are skipped as free rows instead of pushing harder. A 403 bot wall is treated the same way.
- Sites behind bot protection (Cloudflare challenges, 403s) are reported as blocked unless the slug fallback finds the board. robots.txt is respected for every site page and for Workday tenants.
- One board per company: the most-linked supported board. Companies with several boards (e.g. separate intern sites) return the main one.
- Only public job postings are returned. Recruiter names, emails, phone numbers and application-form fields are never collected.
- The run's spend limit is respected: each company is charged once, before its first job row; when the limit is reached no further companies are charged or delivered.
