## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 markets

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Kalshi Weather Markets — Temperature & Rain Odds by City

Kalshi weather markets by city: daily high and low temperature and rain brackets with yes/no prices, volume, bracket bounds, unit and settlement station, plus the live airport observation (METAR) and 24h high/low. US and world cities. $1 per 1,000 markets.

**Kalshi weather markets for any city, in clean rows, from Kalshi's own public API, with the live weather beside the odds.** Type city names (New York, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul...) or codes (NYC, DC, EGLL) and get every **daily high temperature, daily low temperature and rain bracket** Kalshi lists for them, daily temperature first. Every row is one bracket: the question and outcome ("65° to 66°"), **yes and no bid and ask** (the implied probability), last price, 24h change, **volume and open interest**, and a weather block with the **city, measure, bracket bounds as numbers (floor and cap), unit and settlement station** (the NWS climate site, e.g. CLIMDW = Chicago Midway). With observations on (the default) each row also carries the **latest airport observation (METAR) at that station**: temperature in °F and °C, dew point, wind, present weather, the raw METAR and the **high and low of the last 24 hours**, from NOAA's aviationweather.gov. Use it for **weather-trading models, mispricing alerts, forecast-vs-market dashboards** and research. Also accepts weather series, event and market tickers. **$1 per 1,000 markets**, observations included, with no compute bill on top; problems return a free status row instead of failing.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| title | yesBid | city | station | nowF | high24hF |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Will the maximum temperature be 70-71° on Oct 24, 2026? | 0.62 | Chicago | KMDW | 53.1 | 71.1 |
| Will the maximum temperature be 61-62° on Oct 24, 2026? | 0.72 | New York City | KNYC | 45 | 57.9 |
| Will the minimum temperature be >46° on Oct 24, 2026? | 0 | New York City | KNYC | 45 | 57.9 |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `market` | $0.001 | per market row | 1,000 weather markets = $1.00 (observations included) |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at 256 MB = $0.00005 |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `cities` | array | no | — | Optional cities for Kalshi weather markets (daily high and low temperature, rain, snow), e.g. New York, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Denver, London, Paris, Tokyo. Codes such as NYC, DC, LA or ICAO airports (EGLL) also work. Daily temperature brackets come first. |
| `includeObservations` | boolean | no | `true` | For weather markets, add the latest airport observation at the settlement station (temperature, dew point, wind, weather, raw METAR) and the high and low of the last 24 hours, from NOAA's aviationweather.gov. Indicative only: Kalshi settles on the official daily climate report. |
| `seriesTickers` | array | no | — | Optional Kalshi weather series tickers, e.g. KXHIGHNY, KXLOWTCHI, KXHIGHMIA, KXRAINNYCM. |
| `eventTickers` | array | no | — | Optional event tickers (e.g. KXFEDDECISION-26DEC) or kalshi.com market page URLs. A URL or ticker that names a series lists that series. |
| `marketTickers` | array | no | — | Optional exact market tickers, e.g. KXELONMARS-99. Returned whatever their status. |
| `status` | string | no | `"open"` | Open markets (trading now), closed markets (awaiting settlement), settled markets, or all. |
| `minVolume24h` | integer | no | — | Optional: skip markets that traded fewer contracts in the last 24 hours. |
| `minOpenInterest` | integer | no | — | Optional: skip markets with less open interest. |
| `closeAfter` | string | no | — | Optional: only markets that close on or after this date. |
| `closeBefore` | string | no | — | Optional: only markets that close on or before this date. |
| `includeRules` | boolean | no | `false` | Add each market's primary and secondary rules text. |
| `includeOrderbook` | boolean | no | `false` | Add a snapshot of the yes and no bids (price and contracts per level). One extra request per market. |
| `orderbookDepth` | integer | no | `10` | Price levels per side in the order book snapshot. |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | `200` | Upper limit on markets for the whole run. With no search, categories or tickers, the run lists open markets across Kalshi, newest first. |

### Limits & honest notes

- **Responsible use:** this is market data only. Nothing in it is financial, investment or betting advice, and prices are not predictions by ActorForge. Event-contract trading is restricted in some places; follow your local law and Kalshi's terms. This actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Kalshi.
- It reads only Kalshi's documented public market-data endpoints and NOAA's public aviationweather.gov METAR API, with no key, no login and no trading, at most four requests per second with an honest user agent (ActorForge-Kalshi). The National Weather Service API (api.weather.gov) is not used because its robots.txt disallows automated access.
- **Observations are indicative.** Kalshi settles on the official daily climate report (or The Weather Company), which can differ from airport METAR by a degree or so, and "24h high/low" covers the last 24 hours, not the local calendar day. Rain brackets get no observation.
- The settlement station is read from each market's rules ("Chicago (CLIMDW)" → KMDW) or, for international series, from the ticker (KXHIGHTEGLL → EGLL). When METAR has no recent report for a station, the observation is empty and the row is still delivered.
- If Kalshi refuses a request or rate-limits the run, the run stops, keeps the markets already delivered and adds a free status row. Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the run stops cleanly at the cap. Unknown tickers and empty searches return a free status row.
