## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SmartRecruiters Jobs Scraper: All Companies or One Board

Search public SmartRecruiters jobs across every company (or one company's board) by keyword and remote/hybrid/on-site: title, company and logo, city, region, country, workplace type, posted date and apply link. Newest first, multi-query. $1.50 per 1,000 jobs.

**A SmartRecruiters jobs scraper that searches every company at once.** Thousands of employers (Visa, Bosch, AECOM, IKEA franchises, hospital groups, retailers) post their jobs on SmartRecruiters, and its public job search covers all of them. Give it **keywords** (engineer, nurse, sales manager…), optionally **companies** and **remote / hybrid / on-site**, and get one clean row per posting, **newest first**: **title, company with logo and careers page, city, region, country, workplace type, posted date** and the job link. Every keyword runs for every company and workplace type, so one run builds a broad daily feed; filter by country and posting age. Use it for **hiring alerts and job feeds**, tracking new roles at target accounts, recruiting market intelligence and job-board aggregation. **$1.50 per 1,000 jobs**, with no compute bill on top; problems return a free status row instead of failing.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| title | company | location | countryCode | workplaceType |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Senior Data Center Construction Manager | AECOM | Pierre, SD | US | onsite |
| Structural Engineer II - Remote | AECOM | New Orleans, LA | US | remote |
| Teknikansvarig Bana | AECOM | Stockholm, Sweden | SE | hybrid |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `job-result` | $0.0015 | per job row | 1,000 jobs = $1.50 |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at 256 MB = $0.00005 |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `keywords` | array | no | — | Job titles or skills, e.g. engineer, nurse, sales manager. One search per keyword. Leave empty for the newest jobs. |
| `companies` | array | no | `[]` | Limit to these employers: their SmartRecruiters identifier or careers URL, e.g. AECOM2 or https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/AECOM2. Leave empty to search all companies. |
| `locationTypes` | array | no | `[]` | One search per selected type. Empty = all. |
| `countries` | array | no | `[]` | Keep only jobs in these countries (2-letter codes, e.g. us, gb, de; filtered by the actor). Empty = all. |
| `postedWithinDays` | integer | no | `0` | Keep only jobs released in the last N days. 0 = any age. |
| `maxItems` | integer | no | `200` | Stop after this many jobs in total. Each job is one charged row. |

### Limits & honest notes

- **Responsible use:** you are responsible for using the data in line with SmartRecruiters' terms, each employer's terms and data-protection law (GDPR, CCPA). This actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by SmartRecruiters or the employers listed.
- It uses only the public search endpoint of jobs.smartrecruiters.com (the one its job search page calls; that host has no robots.txt, so RFC 9309 allows it). It never calls api.smartrecruiters.com, whose robots.txt disallows crawlers. No login, no cookies, no proxies and no CAPTCHA solving; it sends an honest user agent (ActorForge-SmartRecruiters) and waits at least 1 s between requests.
- **Each search returns at most the 100 newest matching postings** (the site's own limit; there is no paging). For more coverage, add keywords, companies and workplace types: every combination is its own search. This makes the actor best for frequent alert-style runs rather than full historical dumps.
- The search gives no description, department or salary; follow the job link for those. No recruiter details are collected.
- If the site answers with a block, the run stops at once, keeps the jobs already delivered and adds a free status row. Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the run stops cleanly at the cap. A run with no results returns one free status row.
