## Pricing

from $3.00 / 1,000 planning applications

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## UK Planning Applications Scraper — 15 Councils, Weekly Leads

New and decided UK planning applications (applications for planning permission) from 15 council portals in one clean dataset: reference, proposal, site address, status, dates and a link to each application. Weekly lists for trades leads, developers and land sourcing. $3 per 1,000 applications.

Track UK planning applications (applications for planning permission) across councils without visiting a dozen clunky portals. This planning applications scraper / planning data API returns each council's official weekly lists — newly validated applications (a proven lead source for builders, scaffolders, architects and trades: a validated application means building work may be coming) and fresh decisions (for developers, land sourcers and analysts) — from 15 councils in one clean, unified dataset. Every row links straight to the council's own application page.

### What data does it return?

Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:

| council | reference | proposal | address | status | validatedDate | url |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| isle-of-wight | 26/00909/TW | T1; Ash - Dismantle to near ground level and replant with tree in keeping with the area… | Land Adjacent To 6 Withyfields Shalfleet Newport Isle Of Wight PO30 4QA | Registered | Fri 03 Jul 2026 | https://publicaccess.iow.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=… |
| oxford | 26/01423/FUL | Erection of single storey rear extension and conversion of garage to habitable room | 12 Example Road Oxford OX4 1AB | Registered | Tue 30 Jun 2026 | https://public.oxford.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=… |

### How much does it cost?

Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the
actor **always respects your run budget**: set a maximum total charge and it
stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.

| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `application-result` | $0.003 | per planning application | 1,000 applications = $3.00; a typical single-council week (≈25 applications) = $0.08 |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at up to 1 GB = $0.00005 (charged as one event) |

### Input options

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `councils` | array | no | — | Which councils to fetch. Leave empty for all 15. Council coverage is listed in the README. |
| `weeksBack` | integer | no | `1` | How many recent weekly lists to fetch per council (1 = the newest week). |
| `dateType` | string | no | `"validated"` | 'validated' = newly accepted applications (lead generation). 'decided' = applications with fresh decisions. |
| `maxResults` | integer | no | `500` | Stop after this many applications. You are charged per application: 1,000 = $3.00. If you set a run budget (max total charge), the actor automatically stays inside it. |

### Limits & honest notes

- Covers 15 councils at launch (listed in the input dropdown) — all verified Idox portals; a portal that fails is flagged in the run log and exit message, never silently dropped.
- Each council's weekly list is read up to 20 result pages (about 200 applications at the portals' usual page size), which covers a normal week for most councils; an unusually busy week at a large council can be cut off at that point.
- Weekly-list data as published by each council: reference, proposal, site address, status, received/validated dates, deep link. Applicant and agent personal details are deliberately not collected.
- A council portal outage degrades that council only — the run reports it and continues with the rest.
- Weekly lists roll over on Mondays — early in the week the newest list can be nearly empty. Set weeksBack to 2 if you always want a full week of applications.
- Polite by design: ≤1 request/second per council portal.
- Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the actor stops cleanly at the cap.

# Actor input Schema

## `councils` (type: `array`):

Which councils to fetch. Leave empty for all 15. Council coverage is listed in the README.

## `weeksBack` (type: `integer`):

How many recent weekly lists to fetch per council (1 = the newest week).

## `dateType` (type: `string`):

'validated' = newly accepted applications (lead generation). 'decided' = applications with fresh decisions.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many applications. You are charged per application: 1,000 = $3.00. If you set a run budget (max total charge), the actor automatically stays inside it.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "weeksBack": 1,
  "dateType": "validated",
  "maxResults": 500
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per planning application. Fields match the README's sample-output table exactly.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("actor-forge/uk-planning-applications").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
