## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Tenders (TED): Public Procurement Notices by Country & CPV

This Actor searches TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), the official EU public procurement journal, and returns one clean row per tender: English title, buyer, country, deadline, estimated value and link. Run it daily in only-new mode to get alerts about fresh tenders in your countries and CPV categories.

### What you get

One row per notice, flat fields that open directly in Excel, Google Sheets, Make or Zapier:

```json
{
  "noticeId": "745273-2026",
  "title": "Germany – Construction work – Neubau einer kinder- und jugendpsychiatrischen Einrichtung, hier Elektroanlagen",
  "titleLanguage": "eng",
  "buyerName": "AWO Niedersachsen gGmbH",
  "buyerCountry": "DEU",
  "noticeType": "cn-standard",
  "noticeTypeLabel": "Contract notice",
  "procedureType": "open",
  "cpvCodes": ["45000000"],
  "mainCpv": "45000000",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-28",
  "deadline": "2026-11-30",
  "estimatedValue": 1688000,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "placeOfPerformance": ["DE917", "DEU"],
  "url": "https://ted.europa.eu/en/notice/-/detail/745273-2026",
  "pdfUrl": "https://ted.europa.eu/en/notice/745273-2026/pdf",
  "source": "TED – Tenders Electronic Daily, © European Union"
}
```

- `title` is TED's English title ("Country – category – title in the original language"). If a notice has no English title, the first available language is used and `titleLanguage` says which.
- `deadline` is the earliest tender deadline of all lots; `estimatedValue` is the estimated value of the whole contract, in `currency`; only when the notice gives no total is it the sum of the lot values.
- Missing data stays `null` (no deadline, no value, placeholder values like "1 EUR"). Notices are never dropped or guessed.

### Input examples

**IT tenders in Poland (last 7 days)**

```json
{ "countries": ["PL"], "cpvCodes": ["72"], "publishedWithinDays": 7, "maxResults": 50 }
```

Two-letter codes are accepted (`PL` → `POL`). CPV `72` includes all IT-service subcategories.

**Construction in Germany over €1M**

```json
{ "countries": ["DEU"], "cpvCodes": ["45"], "minValueEur": 1000000, "publishedWithinDays": 7 }
```

`minValueEur` keeps only notices priced in EUR at or above the amount; notices without a value or in another currency are skipped.

**Daily alert for keywords**

```json
{ "countries": ["POL", "DEU", "FRA"], "keywords": "software", "onlyNew": true, "maxResults": 200 }
```

Schedule it once a day: each run returns only notices the previous runs did not return.

With no input at all the Actor searches calls for tenders from the whole EU published in the last 3 days (the console pre-fills Germany).

### Only-new mode

- Set `onlyNew: true`. The filters (countries, CPV codes, keywords, notice types, minimum value) identify a monitor: the same filters from the console, API or Make share one monitor; changing them starts a new one. `publishedWithinDays` and `maxResults` do not change the monitor.
- The first run returns everything in the time window and says "Monitor started". Later runs return only notices not returned before.
- Returned notice numbers are kept for 90 days in the key-value store `ted-tenders-seen` on your Apify account. They are saved only after the results are stored, so an interrupted run never loses notices (at worst it returns some of them again).
- In this mode the window is at least 3 days, so notices published on a Friday are not missed after a weekend.
- A run with no new notices succeeds with an empty dataset and the message "No new notices since the last run".

### Errors instead of empty results

- Unknown country or CPV code: TED rejects the search (HTTP 400) and the run fails, naming the input field to fix. Codes in a wrong format (e.g. `P1`, `72AB`) are rejected before calling TED.
- No matching notices in a normal search: the run fails with advice on widening the filters, so a scheduled job never silently returns nothing.
- TED not responding: 2 retries (after 2 s and 5 s), then the run fails. Nothing is charged for notices that were not returned.

### Pricing

You pay per returned notice; notices that are not returned are not charged. The current price is shown on the Pricing tab. You can set a maximum cost per run in the run options; the Actor stops when it is reached and remembers (in only-new mode) only the notices you received.

### Use with AI agents

The Actor works as a tool in Apify's MCP server: `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=adison/eu-tenders-ted`. Example requests for an AI agent:

- "Find IT tenders in Poland published this week" → `{ "countries": ["POL"], "cpvCodes": ["72"], "publishedWithinDays": 7 }`
- "Any new construction tenders in Austria above 5 million euro?" → `{ "countries": ["AUT"], "cpvCodes": ["45"], "minValueEur": 5000000, "onlyNew": true }`

Every input field has a description with an example, so an agent can fill it without reading this page.

### Use with Make, Zapier or n8n

Connect the Apify app, choose "Run an Actor" with `eu-tenders-ted`, set `onlyNew: true` and schedule it daily. Then send each row to e-mail, Slack, a Google Sheet or your CRM. With the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), `run-sync-get-dataset-items` returns the rows in one call.

### Limits

- Up to 15,000 notices per run (TED's search window). Narrow the filters if you need more.
- An estimated value is given in about 4 of 10 notices (443 of 1,000 calls for tenders checked on 4 Nov 2026); a deadline in about 9 of 10.
- TED does not publish on weekends and public holidays.
- Only names of contracting authorities are returned; contact persons are not collected.

# Actor input Schema

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Countries of the contracting authority as ISO codes, 3 letters (POL, DEU, FRA) or 2 letters (PL, DE, FR). Example: \["POL", "DEU"]. Leave empty to search the whole EU.

## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):

CPV procurement categories: 8 digits (72000000, check digit like 72000000-5 is accepted) or a shorter prefix (72 = all IT services, 45 = construction). Subcategories are included. Example: \["72", "48000000"]. Leave empty for all categories.

## `keywords` (type: `string`):

Words searched in the full notice text. Every word must appear; put several words in double quotes to search a phrase. Example: software "cloud services".

## `noticeTypes` (type: `string`):

calls = open calls for tenders (contract notices and prior information notices used as calls); awards = contract award results; all = every notice type, including corrigenda. Example: awards.

## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only notices published in the last N days (1–90). Default 3, because TED does not publish on weekends. Example: 7.

## `minValueEur` (type: `integer`):

Only notices whose estimated total value is at least this amount in EUR. TED gives values in the notice currency, so this filter keeps only notices priced in EUR; notices without a value or in other currencies (PLN, SEK, …) are skipped. Example: 1000000.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Monitoring mode for daily alerts: return only notices that earlier runs with the same filters (countries, CPV codes, keywords, notice types, minimum value) did not return. The first run returns everything in the time window and starts the monitor. Returned notice numbers are remembered for 90 days in the key-value store 'ted-tenders-seen' on your account. The time window is at least 3 days in this mode. A run with no new notices succeeds with an empty dataset. Example: true.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of notices to return (1–15000). Each returned notice is one charged result. Example: 100.
