## Pricing

$6.00 / 1,000 unique institution records

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## FDIC BankFind Regional & Community Bank Financial Intelligence

Query public FDIC-insured institution records and attach an exact quarterly reporting period from the official FDIC BankFind financials API. Designed for bank research and Clay/n8n. This Actor does not classify a bank as a regulatory community bank; all matching FDIC-insured institutions can appear.

### Input

- state: two-letter headquarters state, default NC.
- city: exact headquarters city, default Raleigh; empty string searches the state.
- active: current institution active flag, default true. False finds inactive records.
- minAssetsThousands and maxAssetsThousands: inclusive total asset bounds in thousands of USD, applied to the requested financial quarter.
- reportPeriod: quarter end YYYY-MM-DD, omitted for the latest available financial quarter at run time.
- maxResults: successful unique institutions, 1–500, default 5.

The default NC/Raleigh example should normally finish in under five minutes. Blank city and restrictive asset filters can take longer. The Actor scans at most 5,000 candidate institutions and requests narrower filters if the cap is reached.

### Output

Each result is one institution, deduplicated by FDIC CERT. cert_number, institution_name, city_state, web_domain, offices_count, established_date, active_flag, and institution_as_of come from /institutions. total_assets_thousands, total_deposits_thousands and financial_period come from /financials, joined on CERT and exact quarter-end REPDTE. financial_unit is always "USD thousands": 1,000 means USD 1 million. Rows without both reported amounts for that period are omitted. Missing website, office count or date remains null.

offices_count is the institution OFFICES field (total offices including main office), not a calculated branch count. institution_as_of is its RUNDATE. The institution snapshot can be newer than the requested historical financial period: city, active status and website are not historical quarter values. web_domain is parsed from FDIC-reported WEBADDR and is not independently authenticated.

The /locations endpoint provides office records with CERT, but is not required to get the OFFICES field. The /sod endpoint is a separate annual branch-office deposit survey and is not substituted for quarterly total deposits DEP.

The default Dataset exports JSON and CSV through Apify, for example /v2/datasets/<dataset-id>/items?format=json and ?format=csv. Map columns directly in Clay or n8n.

### Price

Intended Store setup: Pay per event, with only the primary synthetic apify-default-dataset-item event at USD 0.006 per result ($6 per 1,000). Disable the synthetic apify-actor-start event; do not add other paid events or pass platform usage to users. This is a required Apify Console setting, not encoded in source. Exactly one default Dataset item is written per successful unique CERT; retries and skipped records create no billable items. Confirm actual Store pricing before publication.

### Data and controls

Source: https://api.fdic.gov/banks/docs, using /institutions and /financials. No FDIC API key is currently required. Institution data updates weekly; financial values update quarterly. The institution dates use MM/DD/YYYY and financial REPDTE uses YYYYMMDD; the Actor normalizes and verifies exact periods. Financial values are thousands of US dollars.

The client paginates, rate limits to two requests per second, times out after 20 seconds per request, and retries network errors, 429 and 5xx with bounded exponential backoff. Maximum 500 output records. No proxy or credentials are required. FDIC errors fail the run instead of inventing missing values.

FDIC is the source and does not endorse this Actor. Institution websites are reported by institutions; verify identity directly before transacting.

### Local verification

Run python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -v, then docker build -t newapi35:local . from the project root.
