## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU & UK Public Tenders – TED, Find a Tender & Contracts Finder

**One public procurement tender feed for the EU and the UK.** This Actor collects open tenders (calls for competition) from the official open APIs of **TED (Tenders Electronic Daily)**, **UK Find a Tender** and **UK Contracts Finder**, normalizes them into one clean schema and lets you filter by keyword, buyer country, CPV code, publication date and minimum value.

No login, no API keys, no browser, no paywalled content – only anonymous, official open-data endpoints (TED Search API v3, and the OCDS JSON APIs of Find a Tender and Contracts Finder).

### What you get

One dataset item per tender:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `title` | Tender title (English where available, otherwise the original language) |
| `buyer` | Contracting authority / buyer name |
| `country` | Buyer country, ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 (e.g. `DEU`, `FRA`, `GBR`) |
| `cpv` | List of CPV codes of the tender |
| `value`, `currency` | Estimated value and its currency as published (null when not stated) |
| `deadline` | Tender submission deadline (`YYYY-MM-DD`, null when not stated) |
| `publishedAt` | Publication date (`YYYY-MM-DD`) |
| `url` | Link to the official notice |
| `source` | `ted`, `findatender` or `contractsfinder` |
| `noticeType` | TED notice type (e.g. `cn-standard`) or UK procedure (e.g. `Open procedure`) |
| `id` | Notice ID on the source portal |

#### Example output

```json
{
  "title": "Backup & Recovery Solution",
  "buyer": "University of Dundee",
  "country": "GBR",
  "cpv": ["72322000"],
  "value": 317000.0,
  "currency": "GBP",
  "deadline": "2026-10-26",
  "publishedAt": "2026-09-21",
  "url": "https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/089342-2026",
  "source": "findatender",
  "noticeType": "Open procedure",
  "id": "089342-2026"
}
```

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `sources` | `ted`, `findatender`, `contractsfinder` (default: all) |
| `keywords` | Match **any** keyword/phrase (default: `software`). Uses TED full-text search; for UK sources matches title, description and buyer |
| `countries` | Buyer countries as ISO codes (`DE`, `FR`, `DEU`, `GB`…). UK sources only run when `GB` is included; if only UK codes are given TED is skipped |
| `cpvCodes` | CPV codes or prefixes, e.g. `72000000` or `72` |
| `publishedWithinDays` | Only tenders published in the last N days (default 30) |
| `onlyOpen` | Drop tenders whose deadline has passed (default true) |
| `minValue` | Minimum estimated value, compared in the notice's own currency |
| `maxItems` | Maximum number of tenders to save (default 100) |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "keywords": ["software", "cloud"],
  "countries": ["DE", "FR", "GB"],
  "cpvCodes": ["72"],
  "publishedWithinDays": 14,
  "minValue": 100000,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: you are charged per tender saved to the dataset. Set `maxItems` to cap spend; the Actor also stops as soon as your Apify spending limit is reached.

### Notes and limitations

- **Contract notices only.** On TED the Actor returns calls for competition (`cn-standard`, `cn-social`, `cn-desg`, `pin-cfc-standard`, `pin-cfc-social`); contract award notices are excluded. The UK sources return notices in the `tender` stage.
- **No currency conversion.** `minValue` is compared with the value in its original currency (EUR, GBP, PLN, …). Tenders without a published estimated value are excluded when `minValue` is set.
- **TED keyword search is full-text** over the notice, so it can be broader than a title match; UK sources match on title, description and buyer.
- **Multiple lots:** `deadline` is the earliest upcoming lot deadline, and `value` is the procedure-level estimate.
- Results are interleaved across the selected sources. The UK APIs are sometimes slow, so runs that scan many pages can take a few minutes.
- Data comes from official open-data APIs published under their respective open licences (TED: EU open data; UK: Open Government Licence v3.0). Always verify details on the official notice before bidding.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Official procurement APIs to query: TED (EU-wide), UK Find a Tender (above-threshold UK tenders) and UK Contracts Finder (UK tenders of all sizes). Leave all selected to query everything.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep tenders whose text (title, description, buyer) contains ANY of these words or phrases (case-insensitive). On TED this uses the API's full-text search. Leave empty to keep all tenders.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Keep only tenders from buyers in these countries, as ISO codes (e.g. "DE", "FR", "PL" or "DEU", "FRA"). Use "GB" for UK tenders; if no UK code is given the UK sources are skipped, and if only UK codes are given TED is skipped. Leave empty for all countries.

## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):

Common Procurement Vocabulary codes or prefixes, e.g. "72000000" (IT services) or "72" (division). A tender matches if any of its CPV codes starts with one of these (trailing zeros are ignored). Leave empty for no CPV filter.

## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only tenders published in the last N days.

## `onlyOpen` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, tenders whose submission deadline has already passed are dropped. Tenders with no stated deadline are kept.

## `minValue` (type: `integer`):

Keep only tenders with a stated estimated value of at least this amount, compared in the notice's own currency (no currency conversion is applied). Tenders without a stated value are excluded when this is set.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of tenders to save (each saved tender is one billable result). Results are interleaved across the selected sources.
