## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## CheapShark Game Deals — PC Game Prices Across Stores

Current PC game discounts across stores as flat rows — title, sale price, normal price, discount
percentage and store. Free public API, no key.

### What you get

`title`, `salePrice`, `normalPrice`, `savingsPct`, `storeId`, `steamRating`, `steamRatingPct`,
`metacriticScore`, `dealRating`, `thumb`, `id`.

### Sample output

```json
{ "title": "Unity of Command II", "salePrice": "6.99", "normalPrice": "29.99",
  "savingsPct": "76.692", "storeId": "1", "steamRating": "Very Positive" }
```

### Limitations

- **`storeID` is a CheapShark number, not a name** — `1` is Steam and the rest are their own list. The
  id is returned as given rather than mapped.
- Prices are **US-dollar strings** as the store lists them; regional pricing is not covered.
- **Deals expire within hours.** A price from a previous run is not a current price.
- Only PC storefronts; console stores are not included.
- `dealRating` is CheapShark's own score and is not explained by them.

### Pricing

Pay per result.

### Fields

| Field | Type | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| `title` | string | Title as the source writes it. |
| `salePrice` | number | Sale price as the source records it. A non-arm's-length transfer may be zero or blank. |
| `normalPrice` | number | The undiscounted price as the store lists it. A NUMBER in the store's own currency, and the currency is named elsewhere in the row. |
| `savingsPct` | number | Saving as a PERCENTAGE against the normal price. Computed by the source, and it floors rather than rounds. |
| `storeId` | number | Identifier of the store offering the deal. An id, not a name. |
| `steamRating` | number | Steam's own rating text for the game, e.g. 'Very Positive'. |
| `steamRatingPct` | number | Share of Steam reviews that are positive, as a PERCENTAGE. |
| `metacriticScore` | number | Metacritic score, 0-100. Absent when the game has too few reviews for a score. |
| `dealRating` | number | The source's own rating of how good the deal is. |
| `thumb` | string | URL of the deal's thumbnail image. |
