## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Pakistan Property Listings — Zameen Homes, Price-Tracked

Track homes for sale across Pakistan in **one schema** — price, area, bedrooms, location, type and
link — with `firstSeenAt` so you can see what is newly listed and what has changed.

This is the geographic-arbitrage half of the property category: **Zillow already has 1,195 users** on
the Apify Store, while the Pakistan and Gulf portals are thinly served.

### What you get

**Default dataset — one row per listing**

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable id derived from the listing URL |
| `title` | Readable description from the listing slug |
| `city`, `type`, `purpose` | Lahore / `house` / `sale` or `rent` |
| `area`, `areaUnit` | e.g. `6` + `marla`, `10` + `marla`, `1` + `kanal` |
| `bedrooms` | Where the listing states it |
| `price` | PKR, parsed from the card — `null` when the card shows no price |
| `priceText` | The raw text, kept so nothing is lost |
| `url` | Direct link |
| `isNew`, `firstSeenAt`, `scrapedAt` | Change tracking |

**Dataset `market` — one row per city + type**

`city`, `type`, `listings`, `withPrice`, `priceLow`, `priceMedian`, `priceHigh`.

### Sample output

```json
{ "title": "al kabir town phase 2 3 marla platinum house", "area": 3, "areaUnit": "marla",
  "type": "house", "purpose": "sale", "city": "Lahore", "price": null }
```

```json
{ "city": "Lahore", "type": "house", "listings": 33, "withPrice": 1, "priceMedian": 250000000 }
```

### Limitations — read before buying

- **Price coverage is low.** In testing, **1 of 50** listings carried a readable price on the search
  page — Zameen renders prices from a client-side payload that is not in the HTML. `withPrice` on
  every `market` row tells you exactly how many prices the median is built on. **A median over one
  price is not a market.**
- **Zameen only.** Bayut returns **503** and Dubizzle a JavaScript shell on a plain request.
- **Cities are mapped by id** (Lahore 1, Karachi 2, Islamabad 3, Rawalpindi 4, Faisalabad 5, Multan 6,
  Peshawar 7, Quetta 8). Other cities are not mapped.
- **Area, bedrooms and type come from the listing URL slug**, so a listing whose slug omits them
  reports `null` rather than a guess.
- **Not an appraisal tool** — it reports what is listed and what is asked.

### Pricing

Pay per result.
