## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Google Play Keyword Rank Tracker & App Search (ASO)

Find out **which apps rank for a keyword on Google Play** and **where your own apps rank**, in any country and language. For every keyword you get the ranked results (positions 1 to 30) with title, developer, rating, installs, price and genre. Add your app IDs and you also get a clean **rank row per app, keyword and country**: the position, or `null` when the app is not in the results.

Built for ASO specialists, app marketers and indie developers: track keyword rankings daily, spy on competitors' positions, find keywords where you are close to the top, and research a niche before building an app.

#### Features

- **Many keywords and countries in one run** (`us`, `gb`, `de`, `in`, ...).
- **Your app ranks**: position per keyword and country, plus the current #1 app.
- **Competitor research**: full ranked lists with ratings and installs.
- **Optional app details** for every result: number of ratings and reviews, rating histogram, real install count, developer email and website, release and update dates, ads and in-app purchases.
- **Rank history**: schedule the Actor daily and append results to a dataset, Google Sheet or database to chart rankings over time.

#### Output

Search result row:

```json
{
  "type": "result",
  "keyword": "collage maker",
  "country": "us",
  "rank": 9,
  "appId": "com.picsart.studio",
  "title": "Picsart AI Photo Editor, Video",
  "developer": "PicsArt, Inc.",
  "score": 4.1,
  "installs": "1,000,000,000+",
  "price": 0,
  "genre": "Photography",
  "isTracked": true,
  "url": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.picsart.studio&hl=en&gl=us"
}
```

Rank row for a tracked app:

```json
{"type": "rank", "keyword": "collage maker", "country": "de", "appId": "com.picsart.studio", "rank": 8, "inTop": true, "checkedDepth": 20, "topApp": "photoeditor.layout.collagemaker", "checkedAt": "2026-10-03T07:11:18Z"}
```

#### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["photo editor", "collage maker", "background remover"],
  "trackApps": ["com.picsart.studio"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb", "de"],
  "language": "en",
  "resultsPerKeyword": 30
}
```

#### Pricing

- **$0.50 per 1,000 search results**,
- **$2 per 1,000 results with app details**,
- **$1 per 1,000 rank rows** for tracked apps.

Tracking 10 keywords in 3 countries for one app every day costs about $0.50 a month.

#### Notes

Rankings come from the public Google Play search for the chosen country and language and can differ slightly from what a signed-in user sees on a phone. Google Play shows up to about 30 apps per search.
