## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Polish VAT White List Checker (Biała Lista VAT) – bulk NIP & bank account check

Check hundreds of Polish companies on the official **Ministry of Finance VAT white list** (*Wykaz podatników VAT*, "Biała lista") in one run. For each NIP you get the VAT registration status (Czynny / Zwolniony / Niezarejestrowany), company name, registered & business address, REGON, KRS, registration dates and the list of **whitelisted bank accounts** – and, if you pass an account number, a clear **yes/no whether the account belongs to the contractor**.

### Why use it

- **Avoid tax penalties**: under art. 117ba of the Polish Tax Ordinance, paying more than 15,000 PLN to an account not on the white list makes you jointly liable for the supplier's VAT and you lose the cost deduction.
- **Bulk & automated**: no more copy-pasting NIPs into podatki.gov.pl. Check a whole supplier list before a payment run.
- **No rate-limit headaches**: the MF API allows only ~100 searches/day per IP; this actor routes through a cached, batched backend.
- Each result includes the MF **requestId** – keep it as proof of verification.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `nips` | List of NIPs. Optionally `NIP;ACCOUNT` to verify a bank account. |
| `items` | Advanced: `[{"nip":"5260250274","bankAccount":"61109010140000071219812874"}]` |
| `date` | Optional check date `YYYY-MM-DD` (default today). |

```json
{
  "nips": ["5260250274", "7740001454;PL61109010140000071219812874"]
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per NIP:

```json
{
  "input": { "nip": "7740001454" },
  "success": true,
  "date": "2026-10-12",
  "requestId": "8xq20-990fkd8",
  "subject": {
    "name": "ORLEN SPÓŁKA AKCYJNA",
    "nip": "7740001454",
    "regon": "610188201",
    "krs": "0000028860",
    "statusVat": "Czynny",
    "workingAddress": "CHEMIKÓW 7, 09-411 PŁOCK",
    "registrationLegalDate": "1996-01-01",
    "removalDate": null,
    "accountNumbers": ["61109010140000071219812874", "..."],
    "hasVirtualAccounts": false
  },
  "checkedAt": "2026-10-12T12:53:20.277Z"
}
```

With a bank account, the item also contains `accountAssigned: "TAK" | "NIE"` (whether the account is on the white list for this NIP on the given date). Invalid NIPs or account checksums return `success: false` with an `error` message and are not charged.
Exact fields follow the MF API (`/api/search/nip`, `/api/check/nip/{nip}/bank-account/{account}`).

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$5 per 1,000 successful results** ($0.005 per checked company). Failed lookups (invalid number, not found) are returned in the dataset with `success: false` and are **not charged**. Apify platform usage is included in the price.

### Data source & reliability

Data is fetched live from official Polish/EU registries through the [pl-firmy API](https://api.almmity.com) (Almmity), which adds batching, caching and retries so you do not hit the Ministry of Finance limit of ~100 searches per day per IP. Need it inside an AI assistant? The same checks are available as a remote MCP server at `https://api.almmity.com/mcp`.

### Integrations

Run it from the Apify API, schedule it daily, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets or webhooks. Export results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Support

Questions or custom needs: contact@almmity.com. This actor is not affiliated with the Polish Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice or the European Commission; it uses their public data.
