## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Tenders Monitor: TED Procurement Alerts (MCP)

Every public procurement notice across the European Union — **11,000+ notices per day** from the official TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) Search API, no key, no login. Search by keyword, buyer country or CPV sector code; or monitor watch queries and get **`new-tender` alerts the day they're posted**. MCP-compatible, agent-ready.

### Why companies pay for this

TED-alert SaaS tools charge **€50–200/month** to watch your keywords. Public contracts are how EU businesses win steady revenue — but TED's own expert search uses a bespoke query language nobody writes by hand. This actor turns it into plain JSON: keyword in → tenders out, with buyer, deadline, CPV codes and direct TED links.

### What you get per row

`publicationNumber`, `noticeType` (cn-standard, can-standard…), `title` (English preferred), `buyerName`, `buyerCountry`, `placeCountry`, `publicationDate`, **`deadlineDate`** (latest across lots), `cpvCodes`, `estimatedValue` + currency when disclosed, `buyerProfileUrl` (the buyer's portal), `procedureId`, and a direct `tedUrl`.

### Two modes

#### `search` — prospect right now

```json
{ "mode": "search", "query": "cloud services", "country": "DEU", "daysBack": 14, "maxResults": 20 }
```

Sector filter: `"cpv": "33"` (medical equipment) or `"45"` (construction).

#### `monitor` — daily deal-flow

```json
{ "mode": "monitor", "watchQueries": ["hotels@FRA", "medical supplies@DEU@33", "security services"], "maxResults": 30 }
```

- **Run 1 = free baseline** — cursor stamped to today.
- **Run 2+** emits only tenders **posted since the last run** — `new-tender`, numbered, with deadline and buyer.
- Schedule daily; a quiet day costs **$0.001**.

### Recipes

1. **Win public contracts** — sales teams watch their keywords per country; the row arrives with the deadline so nothing is missed.
2. **Bid research for agents** — "any new IT tenders in Italy this week?" answered with dated, sourced rows.
3. **Competitor radar** — watch the buyer's category names or CPV slices you care about.

### Data honesty & limits

- Every row comes from the official TED Search API at run time; nothing is inferred. Values are present only when the contracting authority discloses them (estimated value is often empty on early-stage notices).
- Titles arrive in the notice's official language; English is preferred when a translation exists.
- Monitor reads notices *posted* since the cursor; tenders posted while the actor is paused appear on the next run (dates are preserved).

### Pricing

| event | price |
|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.001 |
| EU tender notice | $0.001 / row |

Typical runs: 20-row prospecting search ≈ **$0.021** · daily watch with 5 new tenders ≈ **$0.006**.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

search = find recent notices by keyword/country/CPV · monitor = alert on tenders posted since the last run (baseline free).

## `query` (type: `string`):

(search) Full-text keywords inside the notice, e.g. "cloud services" or "hotels".

## `country` (type: `string`):

Buyer/place country ISO3, e.g. FRA, DEU, ITA.

## `cpv` (type: `string`):

Sector filter, e.g. 45 (construction) or 33 (medical equipment). Leave empty for all sectors.

## `daysBack` (type: `integer`):

(search) Look back N days for matches (default 7).

## `watchQueries` (type: `array`):

(monitor) "keyword" or "keyword@COUNTRY" or "keyword@COUNTRY@CPV" — e.g. \["hotels@FRA", "medical supplies@DEU@33"]. Each run lists tenders posted since the last run.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Cap rows returned per run (each billed row $0.001).

## `requestDelaySecs` (type: `number`):

Politeness delay between TED API calls. Keep >= 0.3.
