## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Reviews Scraper – App Store & Google Play

Get reviews from the **Apple App Store and Google Play in one run**. Each review comes with its star rating, title, text, date, app version, helpful votes and the developer's reply. You also get a free rating summary for every app.

No login, no API key.

### What you get

#### Per review

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `store` | App Store or Google Play |
| `appName`, `appId`, `country` | Which app, and which country's store |
| `rating` | 1 to 5 stars |
| `title`, `text` | The review (App Store reviews have titles, Google Play reviews do not) |
| `date` | When it was posted |
| `appVersion` | The version the reviewer used |
| `helpfulVotes` | How many people found it helpful |
| `developerReply`, `developerReplyDate` | The developer's answer (Google Play) |
| `userName` | The reviewer's public display name |

#### Per app and country (free)

- Store rating, rating count, current version, price and category
- A summary of the collected reviews:
  - Star distribution and average
  - Share of 1–2 star reviews
  - Developer reply rate
  - **Average rating by app version**, so you can spot which release upset users

### Input

```json
{
  "apps": [
    "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-language-lessons/id570060128",
    "com.duolingo"
  ],
  "countries": ["us", "gb", "de"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "maxRating": 2,
  "since": "30 days"
}
```

- **Apps**: paste store links, an App Store id (`570060128`), a Google Play package (`com.duolingo`), or just an app name. A name is searched on the App Store.
- **Countries**: each store keeps separate reviews per country. Add countries to get more reviews.
- **Filters**:
  - **Star range**: set the maximum to 2 to collect only complaints.
  - **Since**: a date (`2026-01-31`) or a period (`30 days`, `6 months`).
  - **Keywords**: keep only reviews that mention them.
  - You pay only for reviews that pass your filters.

### Common uses

- **Product and UX teams**: read what breaks after each release, grouped by version.
- **Competitor research**: see what users love and hate about rival apps.
- **App marketing (ASO)**: find the words users use to describe the app.
- **Sentiment and NLP datasets**: labelled text with star ratings across languages.
- **Customer support**: find unanswered complaints.

### Notes and limits

- The App Store publishes up to about 500 recent reviews per app and country. To go further, add countries.
- Google Play reviews are fetched in the language you choose (`en`, `de`, `tr`, `pt-BR` …).
- Only public reviews are collected. The scraper never logs in.
- This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Apple or Google.

### Pricing

You pay per review returned. App summary rows and status rows are free. You can cap the spend of a run with **Max cost per run** in the Apify Console.

### Support

Something missing or wrong? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the input you used and the run ID.

Newest first, or most helpful / most relevant first.

## `since` (type: `string`):

A date (2026-01-31) or a period (7 days, 4 weeks, 6 months). With newest-first sorting the run stops as soon as older reviews appear.
