## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Tech Stack Detector – Pixels, Apps & Email Provider

Find out what any website runs on. For each site you get:

- Its CMS or ecommerce platform
- **350+ tools and apps** it uses
- Every **ad pixel with its ID**
- Its analytics, live chat, reviews and payment tools
- From DNS: the **company's email provider** and the SaaS tools it has verified its domain with

Paste a list of domains. You get one clean row per site.

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `platform` | Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, Magento … |
| `technologies` | Every detection, with its category, version when visible, and where it was found |
| `byCategory` | The same list grouped by category (CMS, analytics, advertising pixels, live chat …) |
| `adPixels` | Meta Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snap, Reddit, X, Microsoft Ads … |
| `trackingIds` | The public IDs themselves: GA4, GTM, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, AdSense. Useful for linking sites owned by the same company |
| `analytics`, `emailMarketing`, `liveChat`, `payments` | Quick columns for the most-used categories |
| `emailProvider` | Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Proton … (from MX records) |
| `emailServices` | Services that send email for the domain or verified it: SendGrid, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Atlassian, Slack, Stripe, Zoom … |
| `dmarcPolicy`, `spfRecord` | Email security setup |
| `socialProfiles` | Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube links found on the homepage |
| `server`, `title`, `language` | Basics |

**Categories covered:**

| | | |
|---|---|---|
| CMS | Ecommerce | Website builders |
| Analytics | Tag managers | Advertising pixels |
| Email marketing | Marketing automation | CRM |
| Live chat & support | Reviews | Payments |
| A/B testing | Session recording | Cookie consent |
| JavaScript frameworks | UI libraries | CDN |
| Hosting | Web servers | Security |
| Video | Maps | Site search |
| Booking | Forms | Affiliate |
| Loyalty & subscriptions | Shipping & returns | Accessibility |
| Push notifications | Monitoring | Translation |

### Filter a list down to prospects

Set **Only sites using** to one or more technologies, for example `Klaviyo`, `Shopify`, `Meta Pixel`, `HubSpot` or `Google Workspace`. Only the sites that match are returned, and **you pay only for those**.

```json
{
  "websites": ["allbirds.com", "gymshark.com", "example.com"],
  "onlyWithTechnologies": ["Klaviyo", "Recharge"]
}
```

### Common uses

- **Sales prospecting.** Build lead lists of sites that use (or don't use) a tool you sell against or integrate with.
- **Agencies.** Audit a prospect's marketing stack before the first call.
- **Competitive research.** See which tools competitors pay for.
- **Market sizing.** Count how many sites in a list run each platform.
- **Enrichment.** Add platform and tooling columns to a CRM or spreadsheet.

### Notes and limits

- Detection reads the homepage and its response headers, the way a browser receives them. Tools that only load after a click or a login cannot be seen.
- DNS lookups are optional and cost nothing extra.
- This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with Wappalyzer, BuiltWith or any of the detected vendors.

### Pricing

You pay per website analyzed. Sites that can't be loaded are free, and so are sites filtered out by **Only sites using**. You can cap the spend of a run with **Max cost per run** in the Apify Console.

### Support

Something missing or wrong? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the website and the run ID.

# Actor input Schema

## `websites` (type: `array`):

One website per line. A bare domain is enough — allbirds.com. Any page of the site or an email address works too.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Same as above, for long lists loaded from a file or another Actor.

## `onlyWithTechnologies` (type: `array`):

Keep only websites that use at least one of these, e.g. Klaviyo, Shopify, Meta Pixel, HubSpot, Google Workspace. You pay only for the sites that match.

## `includeDns` (type: `boolean`):

Look up MX, SPF, DMARC and domain-verification records: shows whether the company uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, which services send its email, and tools like Atlassian, Slack or Stripe.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy is recommended for long lists.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many websites are checked at once.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "websites": [
    "allbirds.com",
    "vercel.com",
    "wordpress.org"
  ],
  "startUrls": [],
  "onlyWithTechnologies": [],
  "includeDns": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  },
  "maxConcurrency": 10
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per website.

## `overview` (type: `string`):

Open the dataset in a table view.

};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("anatolia-data/website-tech-stack-detector").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
