## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs by Country: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby

A remote jobs API that answers the question most job data skips: **can you apply from your country?** It reads live postings directly from employer job boards on **Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby**, then works out where each job is really open: worldwide, Latin America, the Americas, US only, Europe only or specific countries. It shows the text behind each answer.

Use it to build a job board for your region, send new-job alerts, source candidates or feed an AI agent. It uses the public job board APIs, so it needs no login, cookies or proxies.

The built-in directory has about **9,500 companies**, which had about **297,000 open jobs and 55,000 remote jobs** when it was last built in November 2026. If you choose a country, it reads the companies known to hire there first, so you get more matches from fewer boards.

**Results appear while it runs.** Open the **Output** tab and start reviewing right away: new jobs keep arriving as each company is read, and the search stops when it reaches your limit, so you do not pay for companies it did not need. Results arrive by company, with each company's newest jobs first. Sort by `postedAt` when you export them if you want the newest overall.

**Typos are fine.** `sofware enginer` also searches `software engineer`, and words can be in any order: `python developer` finds "Developer, Python". The final message shows what was searched.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `company`, `department`, `employmentType` | Software Engineer, Supabase |
| `remoteScope` | `worldwide`, `latam`, `americas`, `us`, `europe`, `unspecified` and more |
| `remoteCountries` | `["BR", "MX"]` when the posting names countries |
| `remoteConfidence`, `remoteEvidence` | `high`, "Remote, Global" |
| `eligibility` | `yes` or `maybe` for the country you chose |
| `seniority`, `skills` | `senior`, `["Python", "AWS"]` |
| `salary` | min, max, currency, interval, and whether it came from the employer or the description |
| `postedAt`, `jobUrl`, `applyUrl` | Direct links to the employer's posting |
| `companyOpenRoles`, `companyRemoteRoles` | How many roles this company has open, useful as a hiring signal |
| `isNew`, `firstSeenAt` | For alerts on scheduled runs |

#### Sample result

```json
{
  "title": "Software Engineer - Storage",
  "company": "Supabase",
  "ats": "ashby",
  "location": "Remote, Global",
  "isRemote": true,
  "remoteScope": "worldwide",
  "remoteCountries": [],
  "remoteConfidence": "high",
  "remoteEvidence": "Remote, Global",
  "eligibilityCountry": "AR",
  "eligibility": "yes",
  "seniority": "unspecified",
  "skills": ["React", "Next.js", "Node.js", "AWS", "GCP"],
  "salary": null,
  "language": "en",
  "postedAt": "2026-10-24T16:13:28.579Z",
  "jobUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/supabase/9f2ba0b2-6d3b-43ea-990f-5b4bf3930520",
  "companyOpenRoles": 69,
  "companyRemoteRoles": 69,
  "isNew": true
}
```

### How much it costs

**USD 1.50 per 1,000 jobs delivered**, plus **USD 0.10 per 1,000 job boards read** and Apify's small default run-start fee. Boards are read even when none of their jobs match, so that cost stays separate and very low.

| Search | Boards read | Jobs | Cost |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| A few specific companies | 5 | 100 | About USD 0.15 |
| Default search | 150 | 100 | About USD 0.17 |
| Larger search | 1,000 | 1,000 | About USD 1.60 |
| Daily alert: 500 boards, about 30 new jobs | 15,000 per month | 900 per month | About USD 2.85 per month |

`maxResults` limits the jobs in each run, and `maxCompanies` limits the boards. The Actor also stops at any spending limit you set for the run.

### How to use it

1. Enter **Keywords**, such as `software engineer`.
2. To see only jobs open to you, enter your **Country you apply from**, such as `AR`, `MX` or `US`.
3. Click **Start**, then export the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

#### Example: engineering jobs open to Argentina

```json
{
  "keywords": ["engineer", "developer"],
  "keywordsInTitleOnly": true,
  "eligibleFrom": "AR",
  "maxCompanies": 500,
  "maxResults": 200
}
```

#### Example: daily alert for new LATAM jobs

Schedule this daily. Each run returns only jobs that this monitor has not delivered before.

```json
{
  "remoteScopes": ["worldwide", "latam", "americas"],
  "postedWithinDays": 7,
  "onlyNew": true,
  "monitorName": "latam-alerts",
  "maxCompanies": 1000
}
```

#### Example: specific companies

```json
{
  "companies": ["https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/supabase", "greenhouse:gitlab", "lever:spotify"],
  "remoteOnly": false
}
```

### How the region is decided

1. **Location field.** If it names countries or a region, that is the answer. Confidence is `high`.
2. **Title.** It is used only when the location is generic, as in "Remote, Global" with "Support Engineer (EMEA)". Confidence is `medium`. A title such as "Sales Director, LATAM" with the location "Remote, Brazil" stays limited to Brazil, because the title names the territory served, not who can apply.
3. **Description.** A "Location:" line and phrases like "must be located in the United States" or "we hire globally" come next. Restrictions win, even over a broad location such as "Americas". Confidence is `medium`.
4. **Nothing clear.** The job stays `unspecified` with `low` confidence. It is not treated as open to everyone.

When you choose a country, `unspecified` jobs are left out unless you turn on **Also include remote jobs with no stated region**.

Listings that look like spam or that are not real openings, such as work-at-home data entry offers or general talent pools, are left out.

#### Limits you should know

- **This is automatic text reading, so it can be wrong.** In one manual review of 60 random results for Argentina, about 9 in 10 looked correct based on the posting's text. Check `remoteEvidence`, and confirm eligibility with the employer before relying on it.
- **Only these three systems are covered.** Jobs on LinkedIn, Indeed or other systems are not included.
- **The directory is not every company.** It is built from public web indexes, and you can always add a company with the `companies` field.
- **Salaries appear only when published.** Those read from descriptions are marked `"source": "description"`.
- **Skills and seniority are read from text**, so they may miss a mention.

### Data and terms

This Actor reads only published job postings through the employers' public job board endpoints, and leaves out Ashby postings marked as unlisted. It does not collect applicant data or submit applications. You are responsible for using the results in line with applicable law and the terms of the job board providers and employers.

### Input summary

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | Matches any word or phrase, in English or Spanish | All jobs |
| `outputLanguage` | `es` adds translated title, region and level | `en` |
| `keywordsInTitleOnly` | Searches only titles | `true` |
| `eligibleFrom` | 2-letter country you apply from | No filter |
| `remoteOnly` | Removes on-site and hybrid jobs | `true` |
| `companies` | Specific companies instead of the directory | Directory |
| `maxCompanies` | Directory companies to read | 150 |
| `maxResults` | Jobs delivered. The search stops at this number | 100 |
| `onlyNew`, `monitorName` | Alerts for scheduled runs | Off |
| `includeDescription` | Adds the full text | Off |

After each run, open **SUMMARY** in the key-value store to see how many boards were read, which failed and how results break down by region.

### FAQ

**Why are some jobs missing?** By default the Actor reads 150 companies out of about 9,500. Raise `maxCompanies` to read more.

**Why did I get zero results?** Your filters may be too narrow. Try removing keywords, using a higher `maxCompanies`, or turning on unspecified jobs. If you use `onlyNew`, it also means nothing new appeared.

**Can I use it with Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent?** Yes. Apify provides those integrations and an API for every Actor.

**Something is wrong with a result.** Please open an issue with the job URL. Wrong regions are the most useful thing to report, and I fix them.

```json
{
  "keywords": ["analista de datos", "desarrollador"],
  "eligibleFrom": "AR",
  "outputLanguage": "es",
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

A job matches if it contains any of these words or phrases, in any order. English or Spanish: desarrollador also searches developer. Common typos are corrected, and the result message shows what was searched. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `keywordsInTitleOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Gives more precise results. Otherwise the description is searched too.

## `excludeTitleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Skips jobs whose title contains any of these words, such as manager or intern.

## `seniorities` (type: `array`):

Keep only these levels, as read from the title. Leave empty for all.

## `salaryOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs where a pay range was published or found in the description.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

For example, 7 keeps jobs from the last week. Jobs without a date are skipped when this is set.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off to include on-site and hybrid jobs.

## `eligibleFrom` (type: `string`):

Keeps jobs open to this country, such as worldwide, LATAM or jobs that name it. Leave empty for no filter.

## `includeUnspecifiedRemote` (type: `boolean`):

Some jobs just say Remote. They are often limited to one country, so they are excluded by default when you choose a country.

## `remoteScopes` (type: `array`):

Keep only these detected regions. Leave empty for all.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Optional. Careers URLs such as https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai, or slugs such as openai or lever:spotify. Leave empty to search the built-in directory.

## `atsSystems` (type: `array`):

Limit the directory search to these systems. Leave empty for all.

## `maxCompanies` (type: `integer`):

How many companies from the directory to read. If you choose a country or region, those known to hire there come first; otherwise, those with the most remote jobs. More companies take longer and cost slightly more.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: returns only jobs that earlier runs with the same monitor name have not delivered.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Use a different name for each saved search so their histories stay separate.

## `outputLanguage` (type: `string`):

Spanish adds translated fields: titleEs, remoteScopeEs and seniorityEs. Common role names are translated; others stay as written. The original fields are kept.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the job description as plain text. Results get much larger.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

You pay per job delivered, so this also limits the cost. The search stops when it reaches this number. Each company's newest jobs come first.

## `maxRunSeconds` (type: `integer`):

Stops reading more companies after this time. Jobs already found stay in Output.
