## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Estonia Company Registry — New Companies, VAT Numbers & Lead Lists

Search and filter **every company in the Estonian Business Register (Äriregister)** and get clean JSON/CSV: registry code, legal form, status, **VAT number**, registration date, county and full address. Built on the official Äriregister open-data file, so there is no scraping, no proxy and no login.

The most popular use is a **new-company feed**: set `registeredWithinDays` to 30 and get every company registered in the last month, ready for outreach by accountants, banks, insurers, SaaS vendors, and incorporation or office-space providers.

### What you get

One record per company:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `registry_code` | Estonian registry code (registrikood) |
| `company_name` | Registered name |
| `legal_form` / `legal_form_subtype` | e.g. Osaühing, Aktsiaselts, Korteriühistu |
| `status` / `status_code` | `registered` (R), `in_liquidation` (L), `bankrupt` (N) |
| `vat_number` | EU VAT number (KMKR) or `null` |
| `registered_on` | First registration date (ISO) |
| `address`, `street`, `area`, `county`, `postal_code` | Location |
| `registry_url` | Official Äriregister page |

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `nameContains` | Words that must appear in the company name |
| `registryCodes` | Exact registry codes to look up |
| `areas` | Counties, cities or address fragments (e.g. `Tallinn`, `Tartu maakond`) |
| `legalForms` | Exact Estonian legal form names |
| `statuses` | `R`, `L`, `N` (default `R`) |
| `registeredFrom` / `registeredTo` / `registeredWithinDays` | Registration date window |
| `vatOnly` | Only VAT-registered companies |
| `maxItems` | Cap on delivered (and charged) companies |

#### Example: new VAT-registered OÜs in Harju county from the last 14 days

```json
{
  "areas": ["Harju maakond"],
  "legalForms": ["Osaühing"],
  "registeredWithinDays": 14,
  "vatOnly": true,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.02 per run** plus **$0.002 per company record** delivered. A 200-company lead list costs about **$0.42**. You only pay for records actually delivered, and the run stops when your maximum cost limit is reached.

### Data source and notes

- Source: Estonian Centre of Registers and Information Systems (RIK) open data, `ettevotja_rekvisiidid__lihtandmed`, updated daily. Only registered, in-liquidation and bankrupt entities are listed; deleted companies are not.
- The file contains public company data only (no natural-person data). Contact details such as email and phone are not part of this dataset; combine with a website enrichment Actor if you need them.
- Each run downloads the full file (~18 MB) and filters it, so runtime is typically under a minute regardless of filters.
- Names and addresses are returned in Estonian as published.
