## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Xing Jobs Scraper — Salaries & Daily Job Feed (DACH)

Get job postings from [Xing](https://www.xing.com/jobs), the leading professional network in
Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as clean structured data. Each job includes:

- **Salary range**: real or Xing's estimate (on ~70-80% of jobs).
- **Remote, hybrid or on-site.**
- **Career level, discipline and industry.**
- **Language of the ad**, so you can find English-speaking jobs.
- **Keywords and a summary of responsibilities.**
- **Company size, industry and Xing page.**
- Full description, posting and expiry dates, and the apply link.

### Why this scraper

- **Two ways to collect jobs.** Search by keyword and city (1,000+ jobs per search), or use the
**feed of every new job on Xing**, built from Xing's public sitemaps (~500,000 active jobs,
\~8,000 new per day). You can filter the feed by city or keyword.
- **Filters that save you money.** Filter by employment type, remote/hybrid/on-site, ad language,
minimum salary and posting date. Jobs that don't match are skipped and **not charged**.
- **Pay only for what changed.** Turn on *Only new jobs* and schedule the run. Each run returns
just the jobs you have not received before.
- **Salaries on most jobs.** Real salary ranges when the employer publishes them, and Xing's
salary estimate otherwise. `salaryIsEstimate` tells you which is which.
- **Compliant by design.** It only uses pages that Xing's `robots.txt` allows for all crawlers.
It collects job postings only, never people's profiles. By default it removes e-mail addresses
and phone numbers from descriptions, so you don't store recruiters' personal data.

### Use cases

- Job boards and aggregators that need a daily DACH feed.
- Labour-market and salary research by role, city or industry.
- Recruiting agencies tracking which companies are hiring.
- Lead generation for B2B sales, using company-level hiring signals.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `mode` | `search` (keywords + cities), `feed` (all new jobs) or `urls` (specific job or listing pages) |
| `keywords`, `locations` | Search mode. Every keyword is searched in every city (20 km radius). |
| `feedCities`, `feedKeywords` | Feed mode filters, e.g. `["Berlin", "München"]` and `["entwickler"]`. |
| `employmentTypes`, `workplace`, `languages` | Keep only e.g. `FULL_TIME`, `remote`/`hybrid`, ads in `en`. |
| `minSalary`, `includeEstimatedSalaries` | Minimum yearly salary in EUR, with or without Xing's estimates. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only jobs posted in the last N days. |
| `includeDetails` | Adds the full description, industry, region and dates (default on). |
| `onlyNewJobs` + `stateKey` | Return only jobs not delivered before. Use one state key per scheduled task. |
| `maxItems` | Maximum number of jobs per run. |

Example, every new English-language, remote or hybrid Python job in Berlin and Munich paying at least
€60,000:

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The scraper collects publicly available job postings and respects Xing's
`robots.txt`. It does not log in and does not collect personal profiles. You are responsible for
using the data in line with Xing's terms and applicable law, such as GDPR.

**Why is a salary marked as estimated?** Many employers don't publish a salary, and Xing shows its
own estimate instead. We return it with `salaryIsEstimate: true` so you can filter it out.

**Something is missing or broken?** Open an issue on the *Issues* tab. We read every issue and
fix problems as fast as we can.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

<b>search</b>: jobs for your keywords and cities. <b>feed</b>: every job on Xing (optionally filtered by city or keyword), newest first — combine with 'Only new jobs' and a schedule to get a daily feed. <b>urls</b>: specific Xing job pages or /jobs/skill/ listing pages.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles or skills, e.g. 'python', 'Buchhaltung', 'data engineer'. Used in search mode.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Optional. Cities in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, e.g. 'Berlin', 'München', 'Wien', 'Zürich' (20 km radius). Every keyword is searched in every city. Leave empty to search everywhere.

## `maxPagesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Each page has up to 20 jobs.

## `feedCities` (type: `array`):

Feed mode only. Keep jobs located in one of these cities (as written in the Xing job URL), e.g. 'hamburg', 'münchen', 'wien', 'zürich'.

## `feedKeywords` (type: `array`):

Feed mode only. Keep jobs whose title (as it appears in the URL) contains one of these words, e.g. 'entwickler', 'pflege'.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

URLs mode only. Job pages (https://www.xing.com/jobs/<title>-<id>) or listing pages (https://www.xing.com/jobs/skill/...).

## `employmentTypes` (type: `array`):

Keep only these employment types. Leave empty for all.

## `workplace` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs with these workplace options. Leave empty for all.

## `languages` (type: `array`):

Keep only job ads written in these languages, e.g. English to find English-speaking jobs in Germany.

## `minSalary` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs whose salary range reaches at least this amount per year. Jobs without any salary are skipped.

## `includeEstimatedSalaries` (type: `boolean`):

For the minimum salary filter, also accept Xing's estimated salaries (most jobs only have an estimate). Turn off to require a salary published by the employer.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs posted (or refreshed) in the last N days.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open each job page to add the full description, remote/hybrid option, career level, discipline, ad language, keywords, company size and dates. Turn off for a faster run with listing data only (search mode). Always on when you filter by workplace or language.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Skip jobs already delivered in previous runs that used the same 'State key'. Ideal for scheduled runs: you only pay for what changed.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name of the memory used by 'Only new jobs'. Use a different key for each scheduled task.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of jobs to return (0 = no limit).

## `removeContactData` (type: `boolean`):

Remove e-mail addresses and phone numbers from job descriptions, so you don't store personal data of recruiters (GDPR).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests to Xing. Keep it low to be polite.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Usually not needed.
