## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get the reviews of any iOS or Android app in one place. Paste App Store or Google Play URLs, ids or package names and the Actor returns one row per review with the star rating, title, text, date, app version, helpful votes and the developer's reply, plus the app's overall rating and number of ratings. Choose the store country, the language and the order. Schedule it to catch new reviews, for example 1-star reviews after a release.

No browser, no API keys, no developer account: the Actor reads Apple's public review feed and the same data Google Play loads on its app pages. You pay $0.0002 per review returned.

### What you get

One Dataset row per review:

- `rating` (1 to 5), `title` (App Store), `text`, `author`, `date`, `version`, `helpfulCount`, `id`, `url`.
- `developerReply` and `developerReplyDate` when the developer answered (Google Play).
- `store` (`appstore` or `googleplay`), `appId`, `appName`, `developer`, `appRating`, `appRatingsCount`, `country`.
- `isNew`: `true` when the review was not in the previous run of that app.

An app that does not exist in the chosen store or country produces a single row with an `error` field and is not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. In **Apps** paste one per line: an App Store URL such as `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997`, an App Store id, a Google Play URL such as `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music`, or a package name such as `com.spotify.music`. iOS and Android apps can be mixed.
3. Set **Country** (and **Language** for Google Play), the **Order** and **Max reviews per app**.
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. To monitor reviews, schedule the Actor daily with order **Newest**; new reviews come with `isNew: true`.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~app-reviews/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"apps": ["com.whatsapp"], "country": "es", "language": "es", "maxReviews": 200}'
```

You can also call it from AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

### FAQ

**Why at most 500 App Store reviews?** Apple's public review feed serves the 500 most recent (or most helpful) reviews per app and country. Run several countries to cover more.

**Does the App Store include developer replies?** Apple's feed does not expose them; Google Play does.

**Can I get only negative reviews?** Use order **By rating** on Google Play, or filter the `rating` column after the run.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-app-reviews`, one key per app and country. Delete it to start fresh.
