## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape app details and search results from the Apple App Store and Google Play in one Actor. Paste app URLs or ids and get one row per app: title, developer with contact email and website, category, rating and number of ratings, price and currency, in-app purchases, installs, content rating, description, what's new, version, update and release dates, size, minimum OS, languages, icon and screenshots. Or type search terms to list the apps of both stores for a keyword. Ideal for app market research, competitor tracking, ASO, lead lists of app developers and portfolio monitoring.

No developer account, no API keys. You pay $0.001 per app.

### What you get

One Dataset row per app, the same fields for both stores:

- `store` (apple or google), `appId`, `url`, `title`, `icon`, `screenshots`.
- `developer`, `developerUrl`, `developerEmail` (Google Play), `developerWebsite`.
- `category`, `contentRating`, `description`, `whatsNew`.
- `rating`, `ratingsCount`, `price`, `currency`, `free`, `inAppPurchases`, `installs` (Google Play bracket such as 10B+).
- `version`, `updatedAt`, `releasedAt`, `sizeBytes`, `minOs`, `languages` (App Store).
- `query` for search results, `detailed` (`false` for Google Play search results, which carry title, developer, rating and icon only).
- `changed`: `true` when version, price, rating or update date changed since the previous run; `isNew` for new apps in a scheduled search.

Apps that do not exist in the chosen country return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Paste **App URLs or ids**: `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997`, `id310633997`, `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp` or `com.whatsapp`.
3. Or add **Search terms** and pick the **Stores to search** and **Max apps per search**.
4. Set **Country** (prices, availability) and **Language** (texts) and click **Start**.
5. Schedule it to watch versions, prices and ratings of your apps and competitors.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~app-store-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"apps": ["com.whatsapp", "id310633997"], "country": "us"}'
```

### FAQ

**Does it return reviews?** It returns the rating and the number of ratings. For review texts use **App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper**.

**Why is the version empty for Google Play apps?** Google Play only shows the version to logged-in users on some apps; the update date is always included.

**Can I search more than 30 Google Play apps?** Google Play's search page lists about 30 apps; the App Store search returns up to 200.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-app-store-scraper`, one key per app or search.
