## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape product details from any online store by URL and monitor prices and stock, without an API key and without a browser. Paste product page URLs from Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, brand sites or marketplaces with public product pages and get one row per product with name, brand, SKU, GTIN, price, currency, availability, condition, images, rating, reviews count, category, seller and variants. Schedule it and each row tells you the price change since the previous run and whether the product went out of stock or came back: price tracking, competitor monitoring, catalog enrichment and stock alerts at $0.001 per product.

The Actor reads the structured data stores publish for Google and social networks (JSON-LD `Product`/`Offer`, microdata, Open Graph product tags) and the public `/products/<handle>.js` endpoint of Shopify stores. When a page has none of that, it falls back to the first price in the text.

### What you get

**Product** (one row each): `name`, `brand`, `sku`, `gtin`, `mpn`, `description`, `price`, `currency`, `priceText`, `lowPrice`, `highPrice` (price range when the page lists several offers), `availability` (`in_stock`, `out_of_stock`, `preorder`, `backorder`, `limited`, `discontinued`), `condition`, `images`, `rating`, `reviewsCount`, `category`, `seller`, `variants` (id, name, sku, price, currency, availability, url), `pageTitle`, `url`, `finalUrl`, `status`, `source` (`json-ld`, `shopify`, `microdata`, `opengraph` or `text`).

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `priceChange`, `priceChangePercent`, `previousPrice`, `previousAvailability`, `availabilityChanged` (null on the first run).

Pages without a price or an availability are not charged. Pages that do not exist or that the store refuses to serve return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Product URLs**, one per line (up to 1,000 per run).
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor (hourly, daily) to get price drops, price increases and stock changes with the exact difference.

### Input

```json
{
  "productUrls": ["https://www.allbirds.com/products/mens-tree-runners", "https://books.toscrape.com/catalogue/a-light-in-the-attic_1000/index.html"]
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.allbirds.com/products/mens-tree-runners",
  "source": "json-ld",
  "name": "Men's Tree Runners",
  "brand": "Allbirds",
  "sku": "TR1MWTG070",
  "price": 98,
  "currency": "USD",
  "availability": "in_stock",
  "images": ["https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/..."],
  "rating": 4.5,
  "reviewsCount": 2310,
  "variants": [{ "name": "7 / Natural White", "price": 98, "availability": "in_stock" }],
  "priceChange": null,
  "availabilityChanged": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-20T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per product** (with price or availability) and **$0.002 per product changed** on a scheduled run. Pages without product data or that cannot be read are free. A run of 1,000 products costs $1.

### Limits and notes

- Works with any store that publishes structured product data (most do) or a Shopify product endpoint. Pages that render everything with JavaScript and publish nothing structured return only the page title and the first price found in the text, or nothing.
- Stores protected by bot challenges (Cloudflare, DataDome, PerimeterX) come back as an error row (free). The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.
- Amazon product pages have their own Actor: **Amazon Product Scraper**.

### Related Actors

- **Amazon Product Scraper**, **Shopify Catalog Scraper**: product data of specific platforms.
- **Website Monitor**: changes in any page, not only products.
