## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape the comments of public Facebook posts, reels and videos by URL without logging in, without API keys and without cookies. Paste post URLs and get one row per comment with text, author, profile link, picture, date, likes and replies count, plus the total number of comments of the post. Schedule it and new comments are flagged: community monitoring, customer feedback, moderation, lead discovery and sentiment research at $0.0003 per comment.

The Actor reads exactly the comments Facebook shows to a logged-out visitor on the post page: the most relevant ones, about 10 per post.

### What you get

**Comment** (one row each): `commentId`, `text`, `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorUrl`, `authorPicture`, `createdAt`, `likes`, `replies`, `depth`, `url`, `position`.

**Post**: `postId`, `postUrl`, `postText`, `postAuthor`, `commentsTotal` (total comments of the post as Facebook counts them), `commentsFound` (comments in the rows).

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `isNew` is true for comments that were not among the visible comments in the previous run (null on the first run).

Posts without visible comments return a single row with `commentsFound: 0` and are not charged. Posts that do not exist, are private or need login return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Post URLs**, one per line (up to 500 per run): `https://www.facebook.com/nasa/posts/pfbid...`, `https://www.facebook.com/reel/...`, a video URL, a share link or a public group post.
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor to be notified of new comments on the posts you follow.

### Input

```json
{
  "postUrls": ["https://www.facebook.com/NASA/posts/pfbid0kAjTCFHeSmCB9TePMvGo3PhbNbh5jFVu3iUpC5HodB45dgpke1fCdRZQHaJr7hXYl"]
}
```

### Output

One row per comment:

```json
{
  "postId": "1658876782274358",
  "postUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA/posts/pfbid0kAj...",
  "postAuthor": "NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration",
  "commentsTotal": 2261,
  "commentsFound": 10,
  "position": 1,
  "commentId": "1862694261574416",
  "text": "This looks like a PS2 cut scene",
  "authorName": "Alberto S.",
  "authorUrl": "https://www.facebook.com/pfbid02mt...",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-16T08:31:04.000Z",
  "likes": 238,
  "replies": 1,
  "isNew": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-18T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0003 per comment** and **$0.0005 per new comment** detected on a scheduled run. Posts without visible comments or that cannot be read are free. A run of 100 posts with 10 comments each costs $0.30.

### Limits and notes

- Facebook shows visitors the most relevant comments (about 10 per post, replies not expanded). The Actor does not log in to load more.
- Only public posts: pages, public groups and public profiles.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **Facebook Post Scraper**: reactions by type, comments count, shares, views and media of the post itself.
- **Facebook Page Scraper**: followers, contact details and the latest post of any page.
- **YouTube Comments Scraper**, **TikTok Comments Scraper**: comments on other networks.
