## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape public Facebook posts, reels and videos by URL without logging in, without API keys and without cookies. Paste post URLs and get one row per post with text, date, author, reactions (total and by type: like, love, wow, haha, care, sad, angry), comments, shares, video views, every photo, video and link, the original post when it is a share, and the top comments with author, date, likes and replies. Schedule it and each row carries the growth of reactions, comments and shares since the previous run: campaign reporting, competitor benchmarks, viral-post alerts and community research at $0.003 per post.

The Actor reads exactly what Facebook shows to a logged-out visitor on the post page.

### What you get

**Post**: `id`, `url`, `text`, `hashtags`, `createdAt`, `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorUrl`, `authorPicture`.

**Engagement**: `reactions`, `reactionsText` (as displayed, e.g. `210K`), `reactionsByType`, `comments`, `commentsTotal`, `shares`, `videoViews`.

**Media**: `media` (every photo, video or link with `type`, `url`, `image`, `videoUrl`, `durationMs`, `caption`, `title`, `description`, `source`), `images`, `videoUrl`, `sharedPost` (id, url, text and author of the original post when this one shares it).

**Top comments** (`topComments`, the comments Facebook shows to visitors, about 10 per post): `id`, `text`, `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorUrl`, `authorPicture`, `createdAt`, `likes`, `replies`, `url`.

**Growth** on scheduled runs: `reactionsChange`, `commentsChange`, `sharesChange` (null on the first run).

Posts that do not exist, were removed, are private or need login return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Post URLs**, one per line (up to 500 per run): `https://www.facebook.com/nasa/posts/pfbid...`, `https://www.facebook.com/reel/...`, a video URL (`/videos/...`, `/watch/?v=...`), a share link (`/share/p/...`), a `permalink.php` link or a public group post (`/groups/.../posts/...`).
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor to follow how a post or a campaign evolves.

### Input

```json
{
  "postUrls": ["https://www.facebook.com/NASA/posts/pfbid0kAjTCFHeSmCB9TePMvGo3PhbNbh5jFVu3iUpC5HodB45dgpke1fCdRZQHaJr7hXYl"]
}
```

### Output

One row per post:

```json
{
  "id": "1658876782274358",
  "url": "https://www.facebook.com/NASA/posts/pfbid0kAj...",
  "text": "Float into the weekend... Like a space jellyfish! ...",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-16T04:05:02.000Z",
  "authorName": "NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration",
  "reactions": 210434,
  "reactionsByType": { "like": 110138, "love": 73988, "wow": 21514, "care": 3878, "haha": 752, "sad": 94, "angry": 70 },
  "comments": 2261,
  "shares": 12836,
  "videoViews": null,
  "images": ["https://scontent.../851053257_1801758024305105.jpg", "..."],
  "topComments": [{ "text": "This looks like a PS2 cut scene", "authorName": "Alberto S.", "likes": 238, "replies": 1, "createdAt": "2026-10-16T08:31:04.000Z" }],
  "reactionsChange": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-18T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.003 per post scraped** (top comments included) and **$0.0005 per post whose stats changed** on a scheduled run. Posts that cannot be read are free. A run of 100 posts costs $0.30.

### Limits and notes

- Only public posts: pages, public groups and public profiles. Private posts, photo pages (`photo.php`) and anything Facebook hides behind login come back as an error row (free).
- Facebook shows visitors the most relevant comments (about 10). For one row per comment use the **Facebook Comments Scraper**.
- Reaction and share counts are exact; the `reactionsText` field keeps Facebook's abbreviated display.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **Facebook Page Scraper**: followers, contact details and the latest post of any page.
- **Facebook Comments Scraper**: one row per comment.
- **Instagram Post Scraper**, **X Tweet Scraper**: the same for other networks.
