## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get the full details of one Google Maps place by URL (long URL or short `maps.app.goo.gl` link) or by name and city, without an API key and without a browser. Paste places and get one row per place with category, address, coordinates, phone, website, opening hours, rating, review count and place id. Schedule it and each row tells you when the rating, the number of reviews, the hours, the phone, the website or the name changed: monitor your own Google Business Profiles and your competitors at $0.002 per place.

The Actor resolves the link to the place name and coordinates, searches Google Maps with the same internal endpoint as the Google Maps Places Scraper and returns the result that matches the place id of the link.

### What you get

**Place** (one row each): `placeId`, `cid`, `name`, `category`, `categories`, `address`, `street`, `neighborhood`, `city`, `postalCode`, `countryCode`, `latitude`, `longitude`, `rating`, `reviewsCount`, `phone`, `phoneInternational`, `website`, `domain`, `openingHours` (day by day), `timezone`, `url`.

**Match**: `source` (what you gave), `matchedBy` (`placeId`, `featureId`, `name` or `first`), `candidates` (places Google returned for the search).

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `ratingChange`, `reviewsChange` (differences since the previous run) and `changedFields` (`openingHours`, `phone`, `website`, `address`, `name`, `category`). Null on the first run.

Places that cannot be found return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Place URLs or names**, one per line (up to 500 per run): a Google Maps place URL, a short `https://maps.app.goo.gl/...` link, or a name with its city (`Sydney Opera House, Sydney`).
3. Optionally set **Language** and **Country** (they bias the search and the language of categories).
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. Schedule the Actor (daily, weekly) to get `ratingChange`, `reviewsChange` and `changedFields` for every place.

### Input

```json
{
  "places": ["https://maps.app.goo.gl/AbCdEf12345", "Eiffel Tower, Paris"],
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us"
}
```

### Output

```json
  "name": "Sydney Opera House",
  "category": "Performing arts theater",
  "address": "Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia",
  "latitude": -33.8568,
  "longitude": 151.2153,
  "rating": 4.7,
  "reviewsCount": 72460,
  "phone": "+61 2 9250 7111",
  "website": "https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/",
  "ratingChange": null,
  "reviewsChange": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-19T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.002 per place** and **$0.001 per place changed** on a scheduled run. Places that cannot be found are free. A run of 100 places costs $0.20.

### Limits and notes

- A place given by name needs enough context (name and city) to be found; `matchedBy: "first"` means the Actor took the first search result because none matched the name exactly.
- Google Maps reviews themselves are not available to logged-out visitors; this Actor returns the rating and the review count.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **Google Maps Places Scraper**: all the places of a search (restaurants in Madrid) with the same fields.
- **Google Maps Leads Scraper**: places plus emails and social profiles from their websites.
- **Google Maps Enrich**: contact details for a dataset of places.
