## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get hundreds of keyword ideas per seed from the autocomplete of Google, YouTube, Amazon, Bing and DuckDuckGo. Type seed keywords and the Actor returns one row per suggestion with the engine, the position and the prefix that produced it. With expansion on, every seed is queried with every letter (keyword a... keyword z), every digit and the common question words (how, what, why, best, vs...), so one seed turns into 200 to 500 real search queries people type. Any language and country, including the local Amazon marketplace.

Perfect for SEO content planning, long-tail keyword research, YouTube titles, Amazon listings and PPC campaigns. No paid SEO API. You pay $0.0002 per keyword.

### What you get

One Dataset row per suggestion:

- `keyword`: the seed.
- `engine`: `google`, `youtube`, `amazon`, `bing` or `duckduckgo`.
- `suggestion`: the keyword as the engine suggests it.
- `position`: order in the autocomplete answer (1 is the top suggestion).
- `prefix`: the letter, digit or question word added to the seed, or `null` for the plain seed.
- `language`, `country`.
- `isNew`: `true` for suggestions that appeared for a scheduled seed for the first time.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Type seed keywords in **Seed keywords**, one per line.
3. Pick the **Engines**, the **Language** and the **Country** (the country also selects the Amazon marketplace).
4. Keep **Expand** on for long-tail research, or turn it off for the top 10 suggestions only.
5. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel, or schedule it monthly to spot new trending queries (`isNew: true`).

### Input

```json
{
  "keywords": ["best crm", "running shoes"],
  "engines": ["google", "youtube", "amazon"],
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us",
  "expand": true,
  "maxSuggestions": 500
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `keywords` | Seed keywords. Up to 100 per run. |
| `engines` | Any of `google`, `youtube`, `amazon`, `bing`, `duckduckgo`. Default `google`. |
| `language` | Two-letter language (`en`, `es`, `de`, `fr`, `it`, `pt`...). |
| `country` | Two-letter country (`us`, `gb`, `es`, `de`...). |
| `expand` | Letters, digits and question words. Default `true` (56 queries per engine). |
| `maxSuggestions` | Per seed across engines, up to 2,000. Default 500. |

### Output example

```json
{
  "keyword": "best crm",
  "language": "en",
  "country": "us",
  "engine": "google",
  "suggestion": "best crm for small business",
  "position": 1,
  "prefix": null,
  "isNew": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Keyword found**: $0.0002 per suggestion. 1,000 keywords cost $0.20; a fully expanded seed on one engine costs about $0.05.
- **New keyword**: $0.0003 per suggestion that appears for a scheduled seed for the first time.

Seeds without suggestions are free. SEO tool scrapers charge $15 per 1,000 keywords.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~keyword-suggestions/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"keywords": ["best crm"], "engines": ["google", "youtube"], "language": "en", "country": "us"}'
```

### FAQ

**Does it give search volumes?** No. Autocomplete suggestions are the queries people actually type, ranked by the engine; combine them with your volume tool of choice.

**Which Amazon marketplace is used?** The one of the country: us, gb, de, fr, es, it, ca, in, jp, mx, au, br or nl.

**Why do some suggestions not contain the seed?** Engines also suggest related queries and corrections. Filter by `suggestion` in your sheet if you need exact matches.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-keyword-suggestions`, one key per seed and engine set.
