## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape the comments of public LinkedIn posts by URL without cookies, without login and without a browser. Paste post URLs and get one row per comment with author, profile URL, text, date and likes, plus the post's author, text, likes and total number of comments. Schedule it and new comments are flagged: engagement tracking, lead discovery from the people who comment, community monitoring and competitor research at $0.0005 per comment.

The Actor reads exactly the comments LinkedIn shows to a logged-out visitor on the post page (the featured ones, up to 10 per post). No account means no risk for your LinkedIn profile.

### What you get

**Comment** (one row each): `author`, `authorUrl`, `text`, `date`, `likes`, `position`.

**Post**: `postUrl`, `activityId`, `postAuthor`, `postAuthorUrl`, `postDate`, `postText`, `postLikes`, `commentsTotal` (as LinkedIn counts them), `commentsFound` (comments in the rows).

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `isNew` is true for comments that were not among the visible comments in the previous run (null on the first run).

Posts without visible comments return a single row with `commentsFound: 0` and are not charged. Posts that do not exist or are private return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Post URLs**, one per line (up to 500 per run): `https://www.linkedin.com/posts/...-activity-...` or `https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:...`.
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor to be notified of new comments on the posts you follow.

### Input

```json
{
  "postUrls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/posts/stripe_...-activity-7380000000000000000-abcd"]
}
```

### Output

One row per comment:

```json
{
  "postUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/posts/stripe_...-activity-7380000000000000000-abcd",
  "postAuthor": "Stripe",
  "postLikes": 1250,
  "commentsTotal": 48,
  "commentsFound": 10,
  "position": 1,
  "author": "Jane Doe",
  "authorUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/janedoe",
  "text": "Congrats to the team!",
  "date": "2026-10-12T10:00:00.000Z",
  "likes": 12,
  "isNew": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-19T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0005 per comment** and **$0.001 per new comment** detected on a scheduled run. Posts without visible comments or that cannot be read are free. A run of 100 posts with 10 comments each costs $0.50.

### Limits and notes

- LinkedIn shows visitors the featured comments (up to 10 per post, replies not expanded). The Actor does not log in to load more.
- Only public posts from profiles and company pages. Posts that need login come back as an error row (free).
- LinkedIn masks some names and words with asterisks for visitors; the Actor keeps them as served.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **LinkedIn Posts Scraper**: recent posts of a profile or company with their metrics and top comments inside each row.
- **LinkedIn Post Search Scraper**: find posts by keyword.
- **Facebook Comments Scraper**, **YouTube Comments Scraper**, **TikTok Comments Scraper**: comments on other networks.
