## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Search LinkedIn posts by keyword, hashtag or topic without cookies, without a LinkedIn account and without logging in. Type what you are looking for ("AI agents", #hiring, your brand, a competitor) and pick a date range; the Actor returns one row per post with the full text, the author and their followers, likes, comments count, images, video, hashtags, links and the top comments. Schedule it to get every new post that mentions your keywords: social listening, lead generation from buying signals, content research and competitor monitoring.

The Actor finds public LinkedIn posts through a web search engine and opens each one as a logged-out visitor, so your own account is never at risk. You pay $0.0015 per post.

### What you get

One Dataset row per post:

- `postUrl`, `activityId`, `type` (post or video), `date`.
- `text` (full text when the post opens), `hashtags`, `links`.
- `authorName`, `authorUrl`, `authorType` (person or company), `authorFollowers`.
- `likes`, `comments`, `images`, `videoUrl`, `videoDuration`.
- `topComments`: author, text, date and likes of the comments LinkedIn shows publicly (up to 10).
- `query`, `position`, `searchTitle`, `snippet`.
- `detailed`: `true` when the post was opened; otherwise the row has the search snippet only.
- `isNew`: `true` for posts that were not in the previous run of the same search.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add one search per line in **Search terms**: keywords, a hashtag (`#hiring`) or a phrase in quotes (`"AI agents"`).
3. Choose **Date posted**: past 24 hours, week, month, year or any time.
4. Set **Max posts per search** (up to 30) and click **Start**.
5. To monitor, schedule the Actor (for example daily with "Past 24 hours"). New posts come with `isNew: true`; connect a webhook or Slack to receive them.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["\"AI agents\"", "#hiring python"],
  "timeRange": "week",
  "maxResults": 20,
  "includeDetails": true
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `queries` | Search terms, one search per line. Up to 50 per run. |
| `timeRange` | `any`, `day`, `week`, `month` (default) or `year`. |
| `maxResults` | Posts per search, 1 to 30. Default 20. |
| `includeDetails` | Open each post for full text, author, likes, comments and media. Default `true`. |
| `region` | Search engine region such as `us-en`. Default `wt-wt` (none). |

### Output example

```json
{
  "query": "\"AI agents\"",
  "position": 1,
  "postUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/posts/paulsparrows_ai-aiagents-cybersecurity-activity-7513907792030687232-1cJj",
  "authorName": "Paolo Passeri",
  "authorType": "person",
  "date": "2026-10-08T07:12:44.000Z",
  "text": "New Dashboard: Rogue AI Agents. I've just launched a new live dashboard that tracks incidents where AI agents...",
  "likes": 24,
  "comments": 1,
  "hashtags": ["ai", "aiagents", "cybersecurity"],
  "detailed": true,
  "isNew": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Post found**: $0.0015 per post, top comments included. 1,000 posts cost $1.50.
- **New post**: $0.002 per post that enters a scheduled search for the first time.

Searches that return nothing are free. Other LinkedIn post search scrapers charge $2 to $5 per 1,000 posts, plus extra for comments.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~linkedin-post-search/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"queries": ["\"AI agents\""], "timeRange": "week"}'
```

### FAQ

**Do I need a LinkedIn account or cookies?** No.

**How many posts per search?** Up to 30. For more, split the topic into several searches (synonyms, hashtags, languages).

**Does it find every post on LinkedIn?** It finds the public posts that a web search engine has indexed, which favours posts with engagement. Use specific keywords for the best coverage.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-linkedin-post-search`, one key per search.
