## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Find the LinkedIn profile of each person on your list from their name and company. Paste lines such as "Satya Nadella, Microsoft" or "Jane Doe, Acme, Madrid" and the Actor returns the best matching LinkedIn profile URL with the headline, current company, location and a confidence score, plus likely alternatives. Perfect to enrich CRM records, event attendee lists, webinar sign-ups and lead lists, without cookies and without a LinkedIn account.

You pay $0.003 per profile found. People who are not found are free.

### What you get

One Dataset row per person:

- `inputName`, `inputCompany`, `inputLocation`: what you asked for.
- `found` and `confidence` (0 to 1): how well name, company and city agree.
- `profileUrl`: clean `https://www.linkedin.com/in/...` link.
- `name`, `headline`, `currentCompany`, `location`, `countryCode`, `snippet`.
- `alternatives`: up to 3 other likely profiles with their confidence, for manual review of close calls.
- `changed`: on scheduled runs, `true` when the matched profile, headline or company changed (a job change signal).

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Paste one person per line in **People**: `Full Name, Company` or `Full Name, Company, City`.
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Filter by `confidence` (for example 0.8 and above for automatic use).

The company makes a big difference: with it most people are found at the first attempt and homonyms are ruled out.

### Input

```json
{
  "people": ["Satya Nadella, Microsoft", "John Collison, Stripe", "Jane Doe, Acme, Madrid"]
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `people` | One person per line: name, company and optional city (separated by commas, semicolons or `|`). Up to 500 per run. |
| `region` | Search engine region such as `us-en`. Default `wt-wt` (none). |

### Output example

```json
{
  "inputName": "John Collison",
  "inputCompany": "Stripe",
  "found": true,
  "confidence": 0.95,
  "profileUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnbcollison",
  "name": "John Collison",
  "headline": "President at Stripe",
  "currentCompany": "Stripe",
  "location": "San Francisco",
  "alternatives": []
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Profile matched**: $0.003 per person found. 1,000 matches cost $3.
- **Match changed**: $0.003 per person whose profile, headline or company changed since the previous scheduled run.

People who are not found are free. Other tools charge for every search, found or not.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~linkedin-profile-finder/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"people": ["John Collison, Stripe"]}'
```

### FAQ

**Do I need a LinkedIn account?** No. The Actor finds public LinkedIn profiles through a web search engine.

**How is confidence calculated?** Up to 0.6 for the name (abbreviated surnames count half), 0.3 for the company and 0.1 for the city. A result is returned as found from 0.5; a different surname is never accepted.

**Does it return emails?** No, only public profile data.

**Is it legal?** It reads only public data. You are responsible for using personal data lawfully (for example GDPR in the EU).
