## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape the recent posts of any public LinkedIn profile without cookies, without login and without a browser. Give profile names or URLs and get one row per post with full text, date, reactions, comments count, images, video, hashtags, links and the featured comments LinkedIn shows to visitors. Schedule it and new posts are flagged: thought-leader monitoring, influencer research, social selling triggers and content inspiration at $0.001 per post.

The Actor reads exactly what LinkedIn shows to a logged-out visitor on the profile page and on each post page (the posts the profile lists for visitors, usually 5-10). No account means no risk for your LinkedIn profile.

### What you get

**Post** (one row each): `postUrl`, `activityId`, `type` (post, video or article), `authorName`, `authorUrl`, `authorType`, `authorFollowers`, `date`, `text`, `likes`, `comments`, `images`, `videoUrl`, `videoDuration`, `hashtags`, `links`, `topComments` (up to 10 featured comments with author, profile URL, text, date and likes).

**Source**: `sourceUrl`, `sourceType` (`profile`), `sourceName`.

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `isNew` is true for posts that were not among the visible posts in the previous run.

Profiles without visible posts, hidden profiles or profiles that need login return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Profiles**, one per line (up to 500 per run): `williamhgates` or `https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/`.
3. Keep **Open every post** on for full text and comments, or turn it off for a faster run with the list data only.
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. Schedule the Actor to be notified when a person publishes.

### Input

```json
{
  "profiles": ["williamhgates", "https://www.linkedin.com/in/satyanadella/"],
  "includeDetails": true
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates",
  "sourceType": "profile",
  "sourceName": "Bill Gates",
  "postUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/posts/williamhgates_...-activity-7512345678901234567-abcd",
  "type": "post",
  "authorName": "Bill Gates",
  "date": "2026-10-12T15:00:00.000Z",
  "text": "I just finished a book that...",
  "likes": 24500,
  "comments": 1320,
  "images": ["https://media.licdn.com/dms/image/..."],
  "topComments": [{ "author": "Jane Doe", "text": "Thanks for sharing", "likes": 40 }],
  "isNew": false,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-20T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per post** and **$0.002 per new post** detected on a scheduled run. Profiles without visible posts or that cannot be read are free. A run of 100 profiles with 8 posts each costs $0.80.

### Limits and notes

- LinkedIn shows visitors the recent posts of a profile (usually 5-10) and the featured comments of each post (up to 10). The Actor does not log in to load more.
- Hidden profiles (LinkedIn returns an error page to visitors) come back as an error row (free). Some names and words are masked with asterisks for visitors.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **LinkedIn Company Posts Scraper**: the same for company pages.
- **LinkedIn Profile Scraper**: profile details (headline, experience, education, followers).
- **LinkedIn Post Comments Scraper**: one row per comment of a post.
- **LinkedIn Post Search Scraper**: posts by keyword.
