## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Find LinkedIn profiles by job title, company, industry and location without a LinkedIn account, without cookies and without the Sales Navigator. Type searches such as "head of marketing" in Madrid or "CTO fintech" in London, and the Actor returns one row per person found: name, headline, current company, education, location, connections and profile URL. Build prospect lists, recruiting pipelines and market maps in minutes, then enrich them with LinkedIn Profile Scraper.

The Actor searches the public web for LinkedIn profiles (no LinkedIn login involved), so your own account is never at risk. You pay $0.002 per profile found.

### What you get

One Dataset row per profile:

- `name`, `headline` (job title and company as the person writes it).
- `currentCompany`, `education`, `location`: read from the search snippet, in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and more.
- `connections`, `countryCode` (from the LinkedIn country domain).
- `profileUrl`: clean `https://www.linkedin.com/in/...` link, ready for LinkedIn Profile Scraper.
- `snippet`: the text the search engine shows for the profile.
- `query`, `searchLocation`, `position`.
- `isNew`: `true` for people who were not in the previous run of the same search.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Type one search per line in **Search terms**: a job title, a company, an industry or any combination (`head of marketing`, `"CTO" fintech`, `recruiter Google`).
3. Optionally set a **Location** that is added to every search (`Madrid`, `"United Kingdom"`).
4. Set **Max profiles per search** (up to 30) and click **Start**.
5. Export the rows, or schedule the search weekly to get only the new people (`isNew: true`).

Each search returns up to 30 profiles. For bigger lists, add more searches: other cities, other titles, other companies.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["head of marketing", "marketing director"],
  "location": "Madrid",
  "maxResults": 20
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `queries` | Search terms, one search per line. Up to 50 per run. |
| `location` | Optional city, region or country added to every search. |
| `maxResults` | Profiles per search, 1 to 30. Default 20. |
| `region` | Search engine region such as `us-en` or `es-es`. Default `wt-wt` (none). |

### Output example

```json
{
  "query": "head of marketing",
  "searchLocation": "Madrid",
  "position": 1,
  "name": "Nelia Moreno",
  "headline": "Head of Marketing Iberia",
  "currentCompany": "Ajax Systems",
  "education": "MBIT School",
  "location": "Madrid",
  "countryCode": "ES",
  "profileUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/nelia-moreno",
  "isNew": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Profile found**: $0.002 per profile. 1,000 profiles cost $2.
- **New profile**: $0.003 per profile that enters a scheduled search for the first time.

Searches that return nothing are free. Other LinkedIn search scrapers charge about $4 per 1,000 profiles.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~linkedin-profile-search/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"queries": ["head of marketing"], "location": "Madrid"}'
```

### FAQ

**Do I need a LinkedIn account?** No. The Actor finds public LinkedIn profiles through a web search engine.

**Why are some fields empty?** Company, education and location come from the search snippet, which varies per profile. Run the URLs through LinkedIn Profile Scraper for the full profile.

**Why does a result mention another city?** The search engine matches words anywhere in the profile (for example a surname). Put the location in quotes for stricter matches.

**Is it legal?** It reads only public data. You are responsible for using personal data lawfully (for example GDPR in the EU).
