## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape public LinkedIn profiles without cookies, without a LinkedIn account and without logging in. Paste profile URLs and the Actor returns one clean row per person: name, headline, location, about, current job title and company, the full experience with dates, education, skills, languages, certifications, followers, connections and the latest posts. Schedule it and it flags job changes, so you can trigger sales or recruiting workflows when someone moves.

The Actor reads the public profile page that LinkedIn shows to logged-out visitors, so your own LinkedIn account is never at risk. You pay $0.003 per profile.

### What you get

One Dataset row per profile:

- `name`, `headline`, `location`, `countryCode`, `about`, `profilePicture`, `badges` (Creator, Top Voice...).
- `currentTitle`, `currentCompany`, `currentCompanyUrl`.
- `experience`: title, company, company URL, location, start and end date (`2014-02`), current, duration and description of every position.
- `education`: school, degree, field of study and years.
- `skills`, `languages`, `certifications`.
- `followers` (exact), `connections` (500 means 500+).
- `recentPosts` (URL, date, text, likes, comments) and `articles`.
- `changed`: `true` when the job title, company, headline or location changed since the previous run.

Profiles that are private or hidden from logged-out visitors return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Paste profile URLs in **Profile URLs**, one per line: `https://www.linkedin.com/in/satyanadella`, `https://es.linkedin.com/in/someone` or just `satyanadella`.
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. To get job change alerts, schedule the Actor (for example weekly) and connect a webhook or integration to the rows with `changed: true`.

Need URLs first? Use **LinkedIn Profile Search** to find people by job title, company and city, then paste the results here.

### Input

```json
{
  "profileUrls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/satyanadella", "williamhgates"]
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `profileUrls` | Public LinkedIn profile URLs or names. Up to 1,000 per run. |

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Profile scraped**: $0.003 per profile. 1,000 profiles cost $3.
- **Profile changed**: $0.003 per profile whose job, company, headline or location changed since the previous scheduled run.

Profiles that cannot be read are free. Other LinkedIn profile scrapers charge $4 to $5 per 1,000 profiles.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~linkedin-profile/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"profileUrls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/satyanadella"]}'
```

You can also call it from AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

### FAQ

**Do I need a LinkedIn account or cookies?** No. The Actor only reads what LinkedIn shows publicly to logged-out visitors.

**Does it return emails or phone numbers?** No, they are not part of the public profile.

**Why do some fields come back empty?** LinkedIn hides some sections (or the whole profile) from logged-out visitors depending on each member's privacy settings.

**Is it legal?** It reads only public data. You are responsible for using personal data lawfully (for example GDPR in the EU): have a legitimate purpose and respect people's rights.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-linkedin-profile`, one key per profile. Delete it to start fresh.
