## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get events from any Meetup search without logging in. Search by keyword and city on Meetup, copy the URL and the Actor returns one row per event with title, description, start date, online or in person, venue and address, attendee count, ticket limit, fee, image, and the organizing group with its rating. Schedule it and events that appear since the previous run are flagged. Community and event discovery, developer relations, sponsorship and speaker prospecting, and local newsletters at $0.001 per event.

### What you get

**Event** (one row each): `id`, `url`, `title`, `description`, `startsAt`, `eventType`, `isOnline`, `rsvpState`, `attendees`, `maxTickets`, `feeAmount`, `feeCurrency`, `isFree`, `imageUrl`, `position`.

**Venue**: `venueName`, `address`, `city`, `state`, `country`.

**Group**: `groupId`, `groupName`, `groupUrl`, `groupTimezone`, `groupRating`, `groupRatingsCount`.

**Search** on every row: `search` (the URL used), `keywords`, `location` and `totalCount`.

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `isNew` is true for events that were not in the search in the previous run.

Searches without results return nothing and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the Meetup event search, enter a keyword and a location and copy the URL, for example `https://www.meetup.com/find/?keywords=python&location=es--Madrid&source=EVENTS`.
2. Open the **Input** tab and paste the URLs, one per line (up to 200 per run).
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor to be told about new events in your topics and cities.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per event** and **$0.002 per new event** detected on a scheduled run. Empty searches are free. One hundred searches of 13 events cost $1.30.

### Limits and notes

- Each search returns the first batch of results that Meetup renders, usually 10 to 20 events. There is no deeper pagination, so use several keywords or cities for wider coverage.
- Meetup's search also returns loosely related events, not only exact keyword matches.
- Attendee names are not returned, only the count.

### Related Actors

- **Eventbrite Scraper**: ticketed events by city and category.
- **LinkedIn Company**: the companies behind the groups.
- **Google Maps Places**: venues and their ratings.
