## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape pins from any Pinterest search as clean, structured rows. Type what you would search on Pinterest, such as `kitchen ideas` or `minimalist tattoos`, and the Actor returns one row per pin with its title, description, original image and size, the website it links to, reactions, creation date, the pinner with their follower count, and the board it was saved to. Use it for trend research, content ideas, competitor and product discovery, or to build image datasets.

No Pinterest account, no browser: the Actor reads the same data the Pinterest website loads for visitors. You pay $0.001 per pin returned.

### What you get

One Dataset row per pin:

- `title`, `description`, `altText` (Pinterest's description of the image), `url` (pin page), `id`.
- `imageUrl` (original), `imageWidth`, `imageHeight`, `thumbnailUrl`, `dominantColor`, `isVideo`.
- `link` and `domain`: the website the pin points to (empty for uploaded images).
- `reactions`, `createdAt`, `isPromoted`.
- `pinnerUsername`, `pinnerName`, `pinnerFollowers`, `boardName`, `boardUrl`.
- `query`, `searchUrl`, and `isNew` on scheduled runs.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. In **Search queries** type one per line, for example `kitchen ideas`, `boho living room`, `wedding cake 2026`. Or paste Pinterest **Search URLs** from your browser.
3. Set **Max pins per search** (default 50, up to 1,000).
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. To follow a trend, schedule the Actor; new pins come with `isNew: true`.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["kitchen ideas", "boho living room"],
  "maxPins": 200
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `queries` | Pinterest searches. Up to 50 per run. |
| `searchUrls` | Pinterest search URLs (`/search/pins/?q=...`). |
| `maxPins` | Pins per search, 1 to 1,000. Default 50. |

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Pin scraped**: $0.001 per pin row. 1,000 pins cost $1.
- **New pin**: $0.002 per pin that appears in a scheduled search for the first time.

Searches that cannot be read are free. Compare with Pinterest scrapers at $1.99 to $2.99 per 1,000 pins.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~pinterest-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"queries": ["minimalist tattoos"], "maxPins": 100}'
```

You can also call it from AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

### FAQ

**Can it download the images?** It returns the original image URLs; download them with any HTTP client.

**Does it scrape boards or profiles?** This version scrapes searches. Each pin includes its board and pinner.

**Why do some pins have no link?** Pins uploaded directly to Pinterest do not point to an external website.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-pinterest-scraper`, one key per search. Delete it to start fresh.
