## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get the details of any Steam game by store URL or app id, in the country you choose. The Actor returns the current price and discount, developers, publishers, genres, categories, release date, Metacritic score, total recommendations, supported platforms and media counts. Schedule it on a list of games and every price change or new discount since the previous run is reported. Price tracking, deal alerts, market research for game studios and catalog data for gaming sites at $0.001 per game.

### What you get

**Game** (one row each): `appId`, `url`, `name`, `type`, `isFree`, `price`, `originalPrice`, `discountPercent`, `priceText`, `currency`, `country`, `developers`, `publishers`, `genres`, `categories`, `releaseDate`, `comingSoon`, `recommendations`, `metacriticScore`, `metacriticUrl`, `windows`, `mac`, `linux`, `requiredAge`, `shortDescription`, `supportedLanguages`, `website`, `headerImage`, `screenshotsCount`, `moviesCount`, `dlcCount`.

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `priceChange` is the difference since the previous run (null on the first run).

Apps that do not exist or are not sold in the chosen country return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Store URLs or app ids**, one per line (up to 500 per run): `https://store.steampowered.com/app/1245620/ELDEN_RING/` or `730`.
3. Set **Country** to get the price and currency of that store (`us`, `es`, `de`, `gb`, `br`...) and **Language** for the texts (`english`, `spanish`...).
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. Schedule the Actor daily to catch discounts.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per game** and **$0.0005 per price change** detected on a scheduled run. Unknown apps are free. Tracking 200 games daily costs $0.20 a day.

### Limits and notes

- Free games have no price: `isFree` is true and the price fields are null.
- `releaseDate` is returned as Steam shows it, in the chosen language.
- Individual user reviews and player counts are not included.
- Steam limits how fast its store data can be read, so very long lists take longer.
