## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape X (Twitter) profiles with exact public counters without logging in, without API keys and without cookies. Paste usernames or profile URLs and get one row per account with followers, following, posts, likes, lists and media counts, name, bio, website, location, join date, birth date, verification type, pinned post and more. Schedule it and every row carries the growth since the previous run: influencer vetting, lead enrichment, brand monitoring and competitor benchmarks at $0.001 per profile.

The Actor uses the same public endpoint the X website calls for visitors who are not signed in, so the numbers are exact (92,328,993 followers, not "92.3M") and up to date.

### What you get

**Profile**:

- `username`, `name`, `id`, `url`, `avatar` (400x400), `banner`.
- `followers`, `following`, `posts`, `likes`, `listed`, `media`: exact counters.
- `bio` (with real URLs instead of t.co links), `website`, `location`, `joinedAt`, `birthDate` (when the account makes it public).
- `verified`, `verifiedType` (`Blue`, `Business` or `Government`), `affiliation` (the organisation badge, if any), `protected`.
- `pinnedPostIds`, `pinnedPostUrl`, `professionalType`, `professionalCategory`, `defaultAvatar`, `possiblySensitive`.

**Growth** on scheduled runs: `followersChange`, `followingChange`, `postsChange`, `likesChange`, `listedChange`, `mediaChange` (null on the first run).

Accounts that do not exist or are suspended return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Usernames or profile URLs**: `nasa`, `@elonmusk` or `https://x.com/apify`, one per line (up to 1,000 per run).
3. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. Schedule the Actor (for example daily) to track follower growth over time.

### Input

```json
{
  "usernames": ["nasa", "apify"]
}
```

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `usernames` | X usernames, `@usernames` or profile URLs (x.com or twitter.com). Up to 1,000 per run. |

### Output example

```json
{
  "username": "NASA",
  "name": "NASA",
  "id": "11348282",
  "url": "https://x.com/NASA",
  "bio": "Making the seemingly impossible, possible. ✨",
  "location": "Pale Blue Dot",
  "website": "http://www.nasa.gov/",
  "joinedAt": "2007-12-19T20:20:32.000Z",
  "birthDate": "1958-10-01",
  "verified": true,
  "verifiedType": "Government",
  "protected": false,
  "followers": 92328993,
  "following": 115,
  "posts": 74425,
  "likes": 17030,
  "listed": 96890,
  "media": 28196,
  "avatar": "https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1321163587679784960/0ZxKlEKB_400x400.jpg",
  "banner": "https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_banners/11348282/1788992290",
  "pinnedPostIds": [],
  "pinnedPostUrl": null,
  "followersChange": 2140,
  "followingChange": 0,
  "postsChange": 6
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Profile scraped**: $0.001 per profile returned.
- **Stats changed**: $0.0005 per profile whose followers, following, posts, likes, lists or media count changed since the previous run (scheduled runs only).

Accounts that cannot be scraped are free. 1,000 profiles cost $1.

### Tips

- Combine it with the **X Tweet Scraper** to read the pinned post (`pinnedPostUrl`) or any tweet URL with text, likes, replies and media.
- `website` is the expanded URL of the profile link, ready for lead enrichment; `bio` also has t.co links replaced by the real ones.
- Usernames are case-insensitive; the output returns the canonical spelling.

### Limitations

- Timelines, followers lists and search are not part of this Actor; it returns the profile only.
- Protected accounts return their public counters and bio, not their posts.
- Counters are those published by X for visitors; X may hide some numbers for restricted or withheld accounts.
