## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Get live quotes and price history for stocks, ETFs, indices, currencies, commodities and cryptocurrencies from Yahoo Finance without an API key. Give the ticker symbols and the Actor returns the last price, change, previous close, day and 52-week ranges, volume, exchange, currency and instrument type, plus the OHLC candles (open, high, low, close, adjusted close, volume) for any range from one day to the full history and any interval from one minute to one month. Schedule it and every price move since the previous run is reported with its difference. Portfolio tracking, price alerts, screening, backtesting datasets and market dashboards at $0.001 per symbol.

### What you get

**Quote** on every row: `symbol`, `name`, `currency`, `exchange`, `instrumentType`, `price`, `previousClose`, `change`, `changePercent`, `dayHigh`, `dayLow`, `volume`, `fiftyTwoWeekHigh`, `fiftyTwoWeekLow`, `marketTime`, `timezone`, `range`, `interval`, `barsCount`.

**History** when **One row per candle** is on: one row per candle with `date`, `open`, `high`, `low`, `close`, `adjClose` and `volume`, the quote fields repeated on each.

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `priceChangeSinceLastRun` and `priceChangePercentSinceLastRun` (null on the first run).

Unknown or delisted symbols return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Symbols**, one per line (up to 1,000 per run), as written on Yahoo Finance: `AAPL`, `MSFT`, `BTC-USD`, `EURUSD=X`, `^GSPC`, `GC=F`.
3. Pick the **History range** and **Candle interval** (intraday intervals need a short range).
4. Turn on **One row per candle** to export the full price history instead of a single quote row per symbol.
5. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
6. Schedule the Actor to track price moves.

### Input

```json
{
  "symbols": ["AAPL", "BTC-USD", "^GSPC"],
  "range": "1mo",
  "interval": "1d",
  "includeHistory": false
}
```

}
```
### Pricing
Pay per event: **$0.001 per symbol** (with or without history) and **$0.0005 per price change** detected on a scheduled run. Unknown symbols are free. A watchlist of 100 symbols checked hourly costs about $3.60 a day.
### Limits and notes
- Prices are those Yahoo Finance shows to visitors: real time or delayed depending on the exchange.
- Intraday intervals (1m to 1h) are only available for recent ranges (about 7 days for 1m, 60 days for 5m to 1h).
- Candles with no trade are skipped; `adjClose` is null for symbols without adjusted prices (crypto, forex, indices).
- Options, bonds and symbols not listed on Yahoo Finance are not available.
