## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape every video of a YouTube playlist by URL or id, without an API key and without quota. Paste playlist URLs and get one row per video with position, title, channel, views, date, duration and thumbnail, plus the playlist title, description, owner, number of videos, total views and last update. Up to 5,000 videos per playlist. Schedule it and videos added to the playlist are flagged: course and series tracking, content archiving, competitor playlists and curation at $0.0005 per video.

The Actor uses YouTube's internal web API (the one the site uses), through rotating IPs, so there is no daily quota. Public and unlisted playlists work; private ones do not.

### What you get

**Video** (one row each): `position`, `id`, `url`, `title`, `channelId`, `channelName`, `channelUrl`, `durationText`, `durationSeconds`, `viewsText`, `views`, `publishedText`, `publishedAt` (approximate, from the relative text), `thumbnailUrl`, `isLive`.

**Playlist** (on every row): `playlistId`, `playlistUrl`, `playlistTitle`, `description`, `ownerName`, `ownerId`, `ownerUrl`, `videoCountText`, `videoCount`, `viewsText`, `views`, `updatedText`, `unlisted`, `videosFound`.

**Changes** on scheduled runs: `isNew` is true for videos that were not in the playlist in the previous run (null on the first run).

Playlists that do not exist or are private return a row with an `error` field and are not charged.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Playlist URLs or ids**, one per line (up to 200 per run): `https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...`, a watch URL with `&list=`, or the id itself.
3. Set **Max videos per playlist** if you only need the first ones.
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Input

```json
{
  "playlists": ["https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOU2XLYxmsIIAOskSyap13n9W-xOt_GP5"],
  "maxVideos": 200
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "playlistId": "PLOU2XLYxmsIIAOskSyap13n9W-xOt_GP5",
  "playlistTitle": "Google I/O 2026 Keynotes",
  "ownerName": "Google for Developers",
  "videoCount": 14,
  "views": 61795,
  "position": 1,
  "id": "wYSncx9zLIU",
  "url": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYSncx9zLIU",
  "title": "Google I/O '26 Keynote",
  "views": 9200000,
  "publishedText": "Streamed 5 months ago",
  "durationText": "1:51:16",
  "isNew": null,
  "timestamp": "2026-10-20T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0005 per video** and **$0.001 per new video** detected on a scheduled run. Empty, private or missing playlists are free. A playlist of 200 videos costs $0.10.

### Limits and notes

- Views and dates are the rounded values YouTube shows in lists; the channel of each video comes as YouTube lists it (some playlist layouts omit it). For exact numbers use the **YouTube Video Details Scraper**.
- The Actor never bypasses logins, CAPTCHAs or rate limits.

### Related Actors

- **YouTube Scraper**: videos of a channel or a search.
- **YouTube Video Details Scraper**: exact views, likes, comments, tags and chapters.
- **YouTube Transcript Scraper**: subtitles of any video.
